We walked outside. It was cold. Like really cold. It was October in Maine so I guess it was pretty cold. I shivered. Tony took his jacket off, and put on my shoulders. It scared me at first.

"It's okay. You looked cold." He said. He smiled at me. I smiled and looked down at the ground.

It was winding. My hair kept blowing in my face. My hair is golden and long. It goes down my waist. I flipped it out my face, and it hit Mike. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." I told him. "It's okay. I didn't really feel it." He told me. Last time that happened, Joey beat me.

We got into the car. Vic drove and Mike sat next to him. Tony and Jaime sat on either side of me.

"So May, why were you up for adoption?" Vic asked. "Umm.......my mom put in there." I said. I couldn't tell them about my father and brothers. I could give them ideas about what to do to me.

"Were they not able to take care of you?" Mike asked. "I guess." I said quietly.

It wasn't a very long car ride. We arrived at a huge house. It was white and had a lot of lights. We walked through the door. In front of me, there were white stairs. To my right there was a living with couches and chairs and bean bags. To my left, there was a room with a lot of instruments and speakers in it.

Vic took my hand. "Come with me." He said. We went upstairs and he lead me down the hall. My room with in between his and Jaime's. It was purple, black, and white, with white Christmas lights strung along the wall.

It was beautiful. I loved it.

It was already 6:30 by the time I had gotten my things unpacked. I didn't have a lot of things. It was 5:30 when they adopted me. They seemed like nice people. But, once I trust someone they turn on me.

I can't let them get through me. I can't let them see my scars, cuts, bruises, scratches and bite marks. They would ask all these questions or just make more. Anyway, I walked out of my room, downstairs, and into the kitchen. Jaime was standing by the stove making something.

"Hey May. You like tacos?" Vic asked. He smiled. "I've never had them." I said quietly. "Really! You've never had tacos?!" He loud voice made me jump. "Sorry. Did I scare you?" He asked. He put his hand on my shoulder. I started shaking.

"You okay?" He asked. "Yeah, um, just cold." I lied. When guys touch me, it's not comforting, it's aggressive. No matter who it was.

Well anyway, we sat down at the dinner table and ate the tacos. The were so good. At the orphan I ate once every Wednesday and Saturday. Not a lot food, just like a sandwich or something. I've never had tacos before.

Anyway, a few hours later we sat in the living room and watched a movie. I think it was called Toy Story. It was really funny. The toys came alive. I loved it. Then we went to bed. It was about 11:30 when I got into bed. My first night in my new room with 4 strangers that I barley know. Kind of scary.

Well I ended up falling asleep, then woke up around 2:30 to see that all the lights were off. I swore I left my lamp on. I got scared. What if my father found me. What if he was in the room, or standing right beside me.

I started to cry and whisper to myself, then the door opened. I almost screamed but I told myself not to. The lights turned on, and Vic was standing there. He saw my face and looked concerned.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" He asked. He jumped on my bed,p and wrapped his arms around me. "The r-room is d-dark." I said. "Oh. Do you not like the dark?" He asked. I shook my head. Tony walked in. "What's wrong?" He asked, jumping on the other side of my bed.

"She doesn't like the dark." Vic said. He kissed my forehead. "It's okay. You don't have to sleep in the dark." Tony said.

We all fell asleep on my bed and woke up the next morning. Well they woke up first. I guess I was tired.
