Zanes POV
I stayed frozen for awhile as my eyes were glued to the spot Gene had previously been standing "he s...saw me cry" I stutter to myself as I pull the hair back over my eye and place my head into my knees to cry for alittle while longer.
'NO SON OF MINE CRIES' yells the all too familiar voice of my father in my head as I remember why I would never cry infront of others. I've been looked down on as the second son, consumed in my brothers shadow as he's shown off to be the pride Jewel of the family, while I get the worlds frustrations and anger taken out on me.
Countless times I've wondered if it would be easier to end it all, believe me I've tried, hence the countless scars on my arms. But every time I would remember two people.
My mother who had always cared and wanted me to strive as my own person, and the man I'm in love with...
Gene
Even though he beats me and hurts me to breakings end, I'll never forget the days of my young child hood...
FLASH BACK
I was curled in a ball rocking back and forth behind a bush at the park, as my working eye flooded with tears and my cheek puffs up turning into a purpley-blue mess from the beating I got from father that morning.
'YOUR WORTHLESS, BROKEN, UNWANTED, GO AND DIE' his words rang around my ears as I felt myself shrinking. "I'm worthless I should die" I mumble as I look at the pocket knife in my right hand.
Slowly I bring it to the side of my head the blade just touching, as I go to press it in a hand grabs the knife by the blade and pulls it out of my hands.
Snapping my head behind me I see a boy around my age "Why would you want to destroy a pretty face" he says with a smile, I look at his hand and see blood dripping from it and my face turns to a frown "it's ok just a little cut" he says placing his untouched hand on my head.
"I'm Gene nice to meet ya" he says as he sits cross legged beside me, "Z...Zane" I mumble (just imagine alittle bubba zane😍).
"Thank you" I whisper as I get up and start to walk home, "remember Zane you always have a friend right here, I'm happy to listen" Gene calls out as he runs off waving
End of flash back
I was 7 at the time and me and Gene were close friends for 3 years, when his family suddenly moved, it had been 2 years since I saw him and now years after he left I'm at school with him and we've been reunited, at least I wish it were like that.
(Just a heads up if your wondering age Zane is 16 and I made Gene 17, they have been in high school for a while and all that time Gene and the school Bullied Zane, if you wanna do math they both started school at age 12 so Zane has been in school 4 years and Gene in school 5)

Ok so I know it's only a short chapter but I've really neglected watt pad and I'm currently writing chapters for all my books, I also am dedicating this chapter to 'dragonmoomlight' because of the crying emoji and the ask for update u got 😂😝. Plz do vote comment and share
