RECAP of last chapter

"How dumb can you get girl. He told you that he's taking you out somewhere and how he wants you to dress- it's a date!" By now she was yelling like a mad woman.

"Whatever", I groaned, covering my ears.

"Ok so I got to get to my date with Mathew but tomorrow night at 6pm come over, I'll help you get ready."

What is it with people scheduling things with me last minute? First Reece now Sally.

Ugh why me

Naomi POV

Today was the day I was supposed to be going out with Reece.

That was the first thought that entered my mind when I woke up this morning.

I shouldn't even be worrying this much over it and I don't know why I am.

You're worrying because you are a worrywart.

Shut up conscience.

Letting out a long sigh, I forced myself to get out of my warm, cozy bed and made my way groggily to my bathroom,  getting ready for the day.

It was Sunday. I didn't know whether I should feel happy and excited or sad and grumpy.

Happy that it was the weekend which means no school, or sad that the weekend was nearing to an end which means that school is right around the corner- tomorrow.

After I had brushed my teeth and splashed my face with cold water, I felt refreshed and much more awake.

Making my way back into my room I walked directly to my wardrobe, in search watch for what to wear.

I decided on some ripped blue skinny jeans and a lose grey crop top that read it's brand 'Stussy'.

I moved onto makeup. I kept it light and simple as I was only going to the mall. Some mascara, eyeliner, highlight and lipstick was all that was needed. I tied my wavy brow hair into a messy bun, pulled on my black converse and stuffed my phone, keys and sunglasses into my Gucci purse.

Entering the kitchen I saw that Brett (my mothers boyfriend ) was sitting on the table reading the newspaper while my mum made pancakes.

Brett, my mum and I have gotten quite close lately and he usually came over to spend the day on weekends and some weeknights.

"Morning my lovelies!" I said walking into the kitchen, giving them each a quick peck on the cheek.

Brett lowered the newspaper he was reading and raised one eyebrow at me. "Ok Nae what is it you want?"

Brett was the father figure in my life now and like my mum, he could read me like an open book.

I put one hand on my chest, feigning hurt, "Why would you possibly think I want something."

"Come on now, kissing us on the cheek? Calling us 'lovelies'? You must want something", my mum said, flipping a pancake with the pan.
