Isabelle leant against Simon's Nissan as she waited for him and Clary.
She glanced at the Institute in all it's glory. She wished she had never been a Shadowhunter. She had the deepest disliking of them because of how they treated her when she was turned. But she didn't want to think about that now. She'd come so far.
Suddenly she heard the doors open and she looked up absentmindedly.
Until she saw Clary.
If she had a heartbeat, it would be racing.
Clary was beautiful- no. Not beautiful, she was stunning. She had gorgeous cascading red hair, which contrasted with her stark white skin, and gorgeous emerald eyes.
She noticed that Clary was looking at her the same way, her eyes running over Isabelle's jet black hair, honey skin, and chocolate brown eyes. She caught her looking at her skinny jeans and blushed.
"Um..are you two okay?" Simon asked, obviously clueless.
Isabelle smiled at Clary and locked eyes with her.
"Oh, yeah. I'm perfectly fine. Clary?"
Clary grinned and looked at Simon.
"Yeah. Also, uh, you didn't tell me your girlfriend was so....um...."
Clary glanced at Isabelle and she gasped. Was Clary about to say she was...beautiful?
"Very...wow." Clary carefully picked at her words, as Isabelle could see.
Simon frowned.
"Um. Should we go?" Isabelle asks quickly, the tension rising.
Simon nods, still a little put off. She kisses him sweetly, and he smiles when they pull apart. Isabelle finds herself looking at Clary when Simon goes around the other side of the car.
"I was going to say that Simon didn't tell me his girlfriend was so beautiful."
Izzy blushes and flashes Clary her trademark smile, stupidly happy when she seems mesmerized by it.
Izzy slips into the back of the car, Clary soon following. Izzy knows, and she's sure Clary does too, that if you sit in Simon's passenger seat it buckles and flies you up onto the roof. (She had to find that out the hard way.)
Simon looks in the dashboard mirror at the two girls.
He seems suspicious but Izzy rolls her eyes and dismisses it. It was just complimenting between girls. Normal, right?

Clary pushes open the swinging door of Taki's, Isabelle following suit.
Clary was sure she'd almost dropped when she saw the beautiful vampire girl.
She was so gorgeous, it nearly killed her to know she would never feel the same way about her.
She was in love with Simon, and Clary would be a terrible friend to even think about messing that up.
The werewolves growled at Simon and Isabelle, until Luke stared them down. As their alpha, he could do anything he liked.
It was good to know Luke could protect the three of them.
Clary grinned and walked over to her Dad (so maybe not biological, but he was the only father figure she'd ever known) and pulled him into a bro hug.
Isabelle seemed shocked that Luke and Clary knew each other.
"Oh. Izzy, Luke's Clary's stepdad. Sorry I, uh, never told you that." Simon explains.
Isabelle smiles and Clary melts. Her last girlfriend had had a stunning smile too, but not like Izzy.
The group find a table and Izzy flicks through the menu ravishly.
"Goddamn, I'm hungry as hell."
Clary laughs and stares at this wonderful girl.
Izzy notices and looks up at her, biting her lip.
Was that a spark or is Clary imagning things?
Clary feels a rush of guilt as she forgets Simon is even there.
He looks oblivious, though, mistaking-Clary's, at least- attraction for friendship.
A faerie waitress takes their order, chirping like a little bird every time she speaks.
After half an hour or so of happy chat, Isabelle scoots out of her booth.
"I have to go to the bathroom. Clary, come with?" She asks, grinning.
I nod and follow her, leaving sweet, clueless, blissful Simon behind.
