I talk a lot of ssh when I'm drinking, baby
I'm known to go a little too fast.
Don't mind all my friends I know they're all crazy,
But they're the only friends that I have.
Avery groaned quietly and rolled over in bed squinting at her alarm clock. She thumped her hand on to the top of the alarm clock to silence it and buried herself back under the covers. She sighed as she settled back to sleep when a loud sharp knock echoed from the door.
"What?" Avery said in a whiny tone glaring at the door as she propped herself up onto her elbow. Her brother's head popped around the door and he gave her a small smile. Avery did her best to pout but only caused her brother to burst out laughing at the expression on her face.
"You have fifteen minutes to get your butt out the door before I leave without you." He said simply before leaving, shutting the door behind him. Avery threw her covers off dramatically as she pulled herself out of bed. She shuffled tiredly over to her floor to ceiling length mirror, looking at her flattened plaits.
Avery Thompson was eighteen years old and had straight, dark brown, locks that reached just past her shoulders. She had friendly green eyes that crinkled when she smiled or laughed with rosy cheeks that brightened up her pale complexion. She untied her tangled plaits and pulled her hair back revealing her newly pierced cartilage a small silver hoop in it, it had been one of her eighteenth birthday presents. Avery only being 5'1 debated with herself on whether she should wear her new kitten heels or not.
"Avery hurry up!" Daniel yelled up the stairs. The next five minutes were spent running around her room picking out her dark jeans, white Hollister t shirt, pink cardigan and heeled brown boots on the way out the door to Daniels car.
"What takes you so long?" Daniel complained looking over to her.
"Daniel! Eyes on the road!" Avery shouted while pulling her hair into a high ponytail.
"Calm down." Daniel replied casually glancing back to her.
"Daniel!" Avery screamed.
"We're fine!" Daniel smirked, Avery glared at him.
"Pull over." She replied sharply, Daniel pulled over slowly by the side of the road, only glancing over to her when he had stopped the car. Avery pushed the car door open and slammed it shut, furiously marching down the street.
"Avery!" Daniel called rolling along beside her with the window down," I was only messing!"
"Well it wasn't funny! You don't know what could have happened in that split second you took your eyes off the road!" She shouted angrily marching on down the street leaving Daniel's car behind. She couldn't believe him; he had the nerve to do that after what happened the last time..... She still remembered as if it had been only a few minutes ago...
When Daniel had first got his driver's license he had taken Avery and Max on his first drive. He had only taken his eyes off the road for a second but that's all it took... another car rammed into their car sending it off the road... She had lost one brother because of the road and she wasn't going to lose another. She stopped walking and took a deep breath closing her eyes briefly.
"Avery!" She heard Daniel call, she abruptly turned around and marched back to the car getting in, slamming the door as she did.
"I swear you take your eyes of the road again and that's it." She growled before Daniel quietly started off to school again. From then on the car ride was completely silent, Avery keeping her angry gaze out the window and Daniel keeping his guilty one on the road. No sooner had they arrived had Avery leapt out of the car and ran across the parking lot and in through the school doors not daring to look back. She breathed in heavily as she flung her locker door up against the one beside her, the clatter echoing throughout the locker room as she stuffed her books hurriedly into her bag. Her gaze flickered to the photos stuck to her locker door of her with her best friends, Gemma Dixon and Summer Moreno. She went up the stairs two by two eventually reaching her form room and sitting heavily in her seat, throwing her bag to the floor.
"Well someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Gemma teased raising an eyebrow at her friend who huffed angrily as she tightly folded her arms across her chest.
"I don't want to talk about it." Avery mumbled looking away.
"Are you alright?" Summer asked leaning forward slightly to try and catch the expression on Avery's face.
"It was just the car ride with Daniel this morning...." Avery trailed off.
"Aww Hun." Gemma patted Avery's arm sympathically, Avery smiled weakly before shrugging her friends hand off and changing the subject.
"So what are you two talking about?" Avery said.
"Oh, well Summer and I are going to have a sleepover want to come?" Gemma smiled trying to distract her friend.
"Yeah, love to." Avery smiled weakly, dropping her shoulders slightly, trying to relax.
"Well," Gemma began, turning around dramatically to keep her friend's full attention on what the plan was," We have planned a girly night though under one condition..." Gemma smiled mischievously giving Summer a knowing look, Avery narrowed her eyes suspicious leaning back in her seat.
"You have to do a cover of a song for our YouTube!" Gemma clapped excitedly, Avery's mouth practically hit the floor.
