I wonder how Grandma is doing. She is probably worried about me since I didn't come home. Though there is the possibility that time flows differently here and no time has passed where Grandma is. That is a small hope. Or no time will have passed there and she will never know I was gone. It would be even better if that was the case. Will I even be able to go home and if so when? Will I make a life in this world that I can't leave before a way is found or will it be before there is much chance?
I have learned a lot from Serin and am getting accustomed to life here. She never asked any questions about myself or where I was from. No one else asked anything either now that I think about it. Have they always been so accepting of strangers or did they learn to suppress their curiosity the hard way through experience. It could be that I was an exception since Serin was my employer and could keep an eye on me. Everyone respected Serin, came to her for advice, and trusted her completely. She could have been a village elder for all intents and purposes. I would go to the woods to find herbs. Serin told me to be back before dark when I did. I found there a creature that I immediately called a dragon. I had been gathering herbs and found a clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a rock that was as tall as my hip and around it was some rare herbs. I had been gathering the herbs for a few minutes when I heard a crack, lifted my head, looked around, didn't see anything, and started gathering again. The next thing I know I am flat on my stomach with a heavy weight on my back. I twisted my head to see what was on me. The word that popped into my head to describe the creature was dragon. It looked like a little dragon, maybe a head or two longer than me streched out. It's eyes were a swirl of colors and different colored scales like a rainbow. I was mezmerized. It hopped off and started playing. The dragon would bring me a rock or a stick a regular intervals. I snuck away about a hour later with the various items the dragon had brought me. I had started to think of the dragon as a friend. Every time I thought about the dragon the name Serinity popped up too, which made me think of it as a her name. Since that day Serinity will sneak into my room on certain days. How she found my room I will never know. The first time I walked into my room and saw that flying lizard asleep on my bed was quite a shock. After about two weeks I realized it was going to be a regular affair. At least until she got tired of stealing my bed, forcing me against the wall, or onto the floor. That was always a rude awkening. The came the day that imbecile decided to race through town. He almost ran over Teim. I saved him and managed to avoid getting hit myself. I was mad and shocked. That never happen before. Hopefully everything will stay peaceful. That hope may be in vain.
