Cold, it was just too cold in the italian camp... WE were sent there with THEIR equipment, but it wasn't enough. We knew about the war, not where it was. We thought it was in germany, but we didn't know the truth...but anyway it was cold...at first Michele Zomer died while sleeping due to the cold, then Fabio Zandonai and Andrea Debiasi, Luca Tonini, Antonio Cipriani with his brother Alessio. They died, then i brought them home, by the time i came back there were 3 other dead bodies: Guglielmo Roati, Roberto Pezzato and the young Alessandro Lenti. The only south italians that all those soldiers from Trentino knew and appreciated...
I hate my job...taking people home when they are dead and knowing that no one will do it for me.
