An after Mocking Jay Story

Katniss [P.O.V]

I wake up with sweat running down my face, I look over and see Peeta next to me. I wake him up and tell him what happened. Ever since Prim died I have had horrible dreams. Peeta has cared so much for me that when ever I would scream he would run into that room, hug me, and say that everything is alright. But I also think in my head that it's not. I have 2 kids, one boy and one girl. Finn is named after Finnick and the other is Maggie, named after Maggs who sacrificed herself for us. I go to check on them and they are peacefully sound asleep, I think in my mind about Prim. I start to cry.

Peeta runs into the room and hugs me, and says, "What's wrong Katniss, is everything all- "yes" I answer and run back into the bedroom and shut the door. I hear a knock at the door and Peeta gets it, It sounds like Gale. Peeta leads Gale into the room and shuts the door. I hug Gale and ask him why he is here. "I missed you, your mom is doing alright and I wanted to see if your doing well, too" he said. I look at him, I tell him all about the nightmares that I have been having about Prim, my mom, and everyone else. My only concern is will he understand everything that I'm telling him. He does. I'm glad that he does. Now I finally have someone to talk to other than Peeta because every time I try to tell him he freaks out and hugs me, but Gale, he gets it.

I feel that it's time to take a shower, so I do. When I get out of the shower I wrap my self in a towel and wrap my hair in a towel, too. I walk out and get dressed and put my makeup on and do my hair the way my mom did everyday in District 12. I yell for Peeta and the kids but there is no answer, I start to freak out, I run around the house looking and then, I hear a scream.

"KATNISS"

I run outside to see Peeta on the floor and my kids no where in sight. I run over to Peeta and help him up, then something hit me and knocked me down, I see nothing and here Peeta calling my name and my kids crying.

I hesitate to get up. I start to cry.

When I wake up to talking, I'm in the hospital. I see Peeta in the corner talking to the doctor, than I look around and I don't see my kids. I quickly get up and Peeta runs over to me, he hugs me. I hug him back. I get up slowly and go to the doctors to ask them about my children. He told me that they are in the other room, Peeta helps me walk over to see my children, I walk up to Finn and kiss him on the forehead, I do the same with Maggie.

Even though I had these kids to impress President Snow and the Capitol itself, I love them, I always want them to have a good future and to not go through what me and Peeta went through. I go back to my hospital bed and close my eyes, Peeta kissed my forehead and I smiled and looked over to him, I asked if he can stay with me, so he did. I wake up in the morning to Peeta on the chair beside me and I whisper his name. He wakes up and smiles at me, I ask to come with me to see the babies again, so he helped me up and walked me over. I knock on the door and open it, I walk in to see doctors all around to room and one of them walked up to me and Peeta, they said for us to leave, I started to cry, and push through the doctors, I got through and ran to Finn, crying, I kissed him on the forehead and hugged him, I also did the same with Maggie.

Moments later, the doctor asked me to leave, I didn't want to leave so I refused and stayed. They pushed me and Peeta came up to me and tells me to go. I calmed down and went into the other room and sat on the bed, Peeta came over and hugged me tightly, and then kissed me. I started crying again, the thought that my kids may die, I couldn't stop crying. Suddenly the doctor came in, told us to please walk in the room. I told Peeta to go first so I can get dressed, so he left, I finished getting dressed and went into the room, there I see Peeta kneeling by Finn's hospital bed and I started to tear up.

I walk up to Peeta and ask what happened, he answered,

"Katniss, Finn, um, didn't make it but Maggie is fine, but she's sleeping"
