Its been almost three weeks, since I practically poured my heart out to Jaden. I don't feel left out anymore like I used to. They involve me in their meetings now, they always let me go with them whenever they travel, and I train with them now. Jaden usually train me to make me stronger and faster, but sometimes, Leo has to train me when Jaden doesn't have time. It was uncomfortable at first, but not anymore. He's quick to say something smart. He pushes my buttons sometimes, but the longer I hang out with him, the more I learn that he's surprisingly a nice guy. Brandon hasn't quit with his stupid nicknames he gives me, and the blonde chic hasn't quit with her snotty personality. If you haven't seen her fight, you'd never guess she was a fighter since she's so concerned about her nails.
I decided to change around the furniture in the hideout the rebels are living in. It was nice in here but it was so depressing. Things actually went in my favor when it came to finding materials. While the others were gone, I decided to explore the inside of the place, and I found more rooms. As I expected there were enough bedrooms for everyone. I went into the first room and it turned out to be Brandon's room. I knew it was his, because the first hint was his name beautifully spray painted on the wall. His name was in 3D and it's color was a blend of sunset colors. And a sword striking through his name, with its handle sticking out of the beginning of the word as if it was thrown from left to right. The room was small, but not too cramped. Just enough to walk around. His small bed was in the right corner of the room, facing towards the left side, where there was a table, covered in weapons laid out carefully. I walked closer to it and looked over them in awe. There were daggers in different sizes. Some small enough to fit your shoe, others big enough to kill a deer with. Guns, bow and arrows, grenades, and other things I can't recognize. Underneath it was paint. Spray bottles, brushes, duct tape, and cans that seemed to hold a gallon. Wow this guy is a paint addict. On the left side of the table was a collection of cds, tapes, headphones, cd player, and an iPod. Woah.. we don't use these old things anymore. Where do they get this stuff?
After looking through his music collections, I decided to quit intruding his personal space, and took the paint with me on the way out. I went into the dining room and began contemplating what color would work best. Maybe yellow for happiness? Or green. Ew.. no I'll just use another color. How about blue? That'll work. I'll just use different shades and add in a little pop out color. I think white would do. I opened on of the large cans I brought with me and popped the lid. I dipped a good brush in the cerulean colored paint and began painting the wall.
"Nice choice of color." I spun around and saw Lana standing at the door frame, with her hands on her hips. UGH.
"Although I'd prefer red. Or pink." she added.
"In case you haven't noticed, no one really cares about your concerns." I replied nonchalantly. I turned back around to continue my project. Footsteps. Clack...clack...clack...
"Watch your tone, newbie." I turned back around.
"Or?" I arched my eyebrow. She kept sputtering her words, trying to come up with a reply.
"Whatever. Just stay out of my way. We both know that you're weak, and certainly not that attractive."
"Says who?"
"Me, of course."
"No, I meant actual human beings." I gave her an innocent look.
"You little-" she tried to get close, but I stopped her by holding up the paintbrush in her face. She backed away quickly, like a vampire.
"I heard that this paint can be a little toxic to beautiful skin. Well, I guess there's no need for that. I finally got to see your true colors." I smiled.
"Hey, ladies." Jaden was walking through the door frame, trailed after Brandon and Leo. Jaden paused to look at us for a split second. "I'm glad to see you two get along." Leo went to the other rooms.
"Yeah, something like that." I replied. Lana turned around and giggled obnoxiously.
"Yeah, totally Jaden. She's so nice. She was just telling me how she wanted to hang out with Leo more." She crooned. What? No.
"Wait, I didn't-"
"Cool, I was actually wondering if you were okay with him switching spots with me. I don't think I can keep training you, now that the Movement is starting."
"Hey, that's not fair! I want to train her too." Brandon interjected, with a pouty face.
"No, Brandon."
"But wait, what about my speed lessons? He only works on my strength."
"I'll tell him about it. Nice choice of color, by the way." He winked at me and left with Brandon.
Why does life treat me so unfairly?
