Staring

The cold winter breeze brushed past my once warm body as I stared into the universe and all of it's beauty. This is just one of the perks of living in the North Pole; staring up into the starlit sky at planets, galaxies and the moon, and the aurora borealis. The 4 shine down onto the fresh blanket of snow and make it sparkle and glimmer, reflecting back; brightening the skies more and more.

It's nights like this that I never want to end. It's nights like this that I want to last forever.

The moon is me; I am not myself without something to help me shine. The galaxy I observe is the people who I care for the most, different kinds of people, but the biggest love I've seen in my life. The stars fill all hearts with hope and desire. The dancing aurora borealis brings energy and joy to my world. This is my world. My world; earth.

Earth where we fight each other for land.
Earth where we have to do bad for good.
Earth where we give up hope after not getting something for the first time.
Earth where there's so much hate to love anymore.
Ugh, sometimes I wish I lived on another planet, where there was peace.

So people ask, 'why do you stay up late in the freezing cold?'
I stay awake until the morning in the freezing cold artic weather so I can forget about all of my worries, and wonder. Wonder about space. Wonder about wether there's life on other planets, and if there were, could we communicate? Could we be civil? Are we similar?
I think of our world being peaceful one day, where everyone is happy, and where there's no hunger and poverty.
I think about the deep thoughts that go through everyone's mind at least once in their lives.
Who loves me?
Who do I love?
Where are they?
Are they similar to me?
Could, one day, we both sit together and be thinking the same things, whilst staring at the same twinkling star?

I wonder.
