Cursing at him wasn't enough. But I shouldn't be hard on him for laughing at the story I just told him about. When I was little and my mom dressed me in little girls clothes and everyone thought I, little Red, was a girl. Until I finally had enough when I was ten and told the whole village, though some still don't believe me. Those being some boys who have crushes on me. I try to not get in contact with them, they try to do things that I'm not comfortable with.

"Its not funny!! It was embarrassing." I said with red cheeks.

I looked up at the sky to see it getting darker, but also not to look at John.

"But, hahaha, you were a girl, haha for ten, hahaha years." he said still laughing, I punched his arm but he barely even flinched and just laughed harder. "You even hit like a girl, hahahahahah!!"

I pout and glare at him, "Im not a girl!!"

He looked at me seriously, well that was fast, he stepped closer to me and I stepped back, he kept advancing till his hands shot out and gripped my waist and quickly drew me closer to him.

"J-John, what are you doing?" I stuttered at first and cursed myself for it.

His red eyes looked into mine and I couldn't help but feel allured to them, they were so pretty like the rubies that always caught my eyes in the jewelry store. His hands tightened around me and all I could do was stand frozen and wide eyed.

"You even blush like a girl..." He said and backed off with a laugh.

That is how I realized I was blushing, I sighed and shook my head and kept walking towards Grandmothers.

We were in front of grandmothers house and the sun was setting, I'm going to haft to stay for the night, but I should have known, whenever I came with someone I was always here at dusk with them.

Most the time when I went alone I was home by midnight.

Man, now I wont be able to have pastries.

"Well, there it is, I better go, you okay going home?" I asked John.

"I'll be fine, I hope to see you soon Red." John said with a smile.

"Me too, Bye." I said and turned and walked down the flowered path to her doorway.

Once I reached it I knocked and as I waited for Grandmother I looked back to see if John was still there, but he was gone. Hmm....I heard the door open so I turned and smiled at the small frail lady, I called my Grandmother.

"Oh Red, its been so long since I've seen you, oh and you brought some snacks!" she says her voice shaky and strangely strong.

"Its Nice to see you again too Grandmother." I said with a smile, setting the picnic basket on her little entrance way table. She grabbed it immediately and started shuffling her way to the kitchen me following with a shake of my head.

It was a small kitchen, but homey, I always loved baking with her and Mama in here. I know alot of recipes now because of it, but with our bakery booming in business and Grandmother withering up in the ages our cooking sessions have grown distanter.

"How are things? I haven't seen you or your brother for quite awhile, ever since your poor friend Goldie was taken by those three bears. Usually your father would come." Grandmother inquired about the latest events.

"Well Grandmother, Father had to take up an extra job to help get us a bigger and better factory since me and Mama's cooking is booming around town. And Malcolm is sick, Mother should be taking care of him since she's taking care of the shop while I'm away. I was thinking to hire Alice, He's pretty crazy but does well, and he loves the tea I make. Hatter would probably come into shop everyday to see Alice, I know he likes seeing Alice alot, so might just make us some cents richer. Hehehe," I giggled at my logic, but the truth was a much more bigger picture then logic.

"Well now, aren't you the devious one. Haha." Grandmother cackled. Then she looked at a large clock that my Grandfather Red had made. "Well, its quite late, what made that so? The only time your ever at this time is when your with your friends." she says and opens the picnic basket after laying my neatly folded cloak onto the kitchen table.

"I met someone along the way, he was quite mysterious but very intriguing." I sat beside her.

"Oh really? What has your mother taught you about strangers young man?!" she scolded.

"Don't fret Grandmother, he told me his name and we talked on our way here, he was quite nice, but also very lazy like, all in all I'm considering him to be a friend." I said with some calmness, since I was nervous, Grandmothers scolding were always the worst.

"Well then, I guess if he wasn't a complete stranger, its alright to not scold you." She replied with a defeated sigh.

I giggled an we talked until late about the things I'd experimentally bake and anything else I'd make. Soon we were tired she led me to the room I usually used and left me to slumber.

I changed into a red pair of pajamas, that were to big on me since they used to be my Grandfathers. Sighing in content I went to the edge of the bed and climbed in only to slowly close my eyes to sleep.

Not knowing that a certain someone was in the house.

As the front door to the old crickety cottage opened, Red slept peacefully without a worry in the world, but he should be worried for the large figure that entered the house wanted him and only him.

The figure walked into the front entrance and looked around his big eyes scanning for the one he came for, the that he'll keep forever, like a treasure.

His steps created sounds of creaks and groans. His breath heard since everything was as silent as a dead mouse.

As he stepped up the stairs they creaked loudly and so loud they woke up Grandmother Blossom as she rubbed her eyes and sat up, the figure yet to be known kept going this time much carefuller then the first. But with each step it still made noise, enough noise to make Grandmother furrow her brows and let her feet dangle off the bed to only slip into her slippers and stand. She shuffled to her door not making sound, she opened it wide and looked out to the upstairs hallway.

She saw nothing but darkness since no lights were on, she stepped on out and went to the switch to only hear a growl.

Startled she looked towards the stairs to see nothing but bright orbs that stared into her soul, she shrieked and went to flee only for the figure to pounce and rip out her throat.

Red stirred but did not wake, for the noise was not to great.

The figure stood up, blood on his clothes and hands, that and on his mouth dripping off his chin. He stared at the next door and went to it, only to open it and see a bathroom, he groaned and went to the next to find only a empty boxed up room, he groaned again and went to the last door and opened it to see a sleeping figure in bed.

The figures bright eyes saw the cloak that would only belong to one, he smiled a wolf grin and stalked closer to his prey.

Red stirred a bit as the figure leaned down and brushed a finger across his cheek only for the fresh blood to stain his cheek. He leaned in closer and licked it off, and then sniffed Red, his scent sent him over the edge.

He went to the other side of the large bed and laid down facing Red and watched him as he slept.

Waiting for poor innocent Red to wake.
