Looks Can Be Deceiving

As I was driving to school, I looked in my rear-view-mirror and saw a car driving quite close to mine. Just to annoy this person riding my ass, I drove a bit slower. I knew it would make them mad. I laughed at my being childish. The car sped up and tried to pass me and as they drove by, I looked to see if I knew them. It was Michael. He winked at me and had a smirk on his face. This boy would be the death of me. I smiled and sped up, not allowing him to pass. He saw this as a competition. He too, sped up and before I knew it, we were racing, above 80 in a neighborly town. Being new, Michael hadn't a clue about the shortcuts in this town. I made a sharp right turn to one of the shortcuts I knew to the school. He kept going because he had no time to turn.
As I pulled up to the school, I saw two boys fighting on the front property of the school. I pulled into my parking spot and watched it go down. This was a usual thing with my school. I was surprised that a faculty member hadn't come to stop it yet. My thoughts were interrupted when Michael pulled up right beside me. Of course, his spot was right next to mine. He got out of his car and walked around to the passenger side of mine. I locked my doors. He pulled on the handle and laughed. "Let me in, girl" he shouted as his godly laugh filled my ears. Giving in, I unlocked my doors and allowed him access into my car. He hopped right in and looked at me. I began laughing hard. "What is it?" he said with a smile.
"Oh nothing, just the fact that you've been here for a good three minutes and haven't noticed the big fight right in front of us." He slowly looked over and showed surprisement that he hadn't noticed. His heavenly laugh filled my car.
"Oh my gosh!" He continued to laugh. I couldn't help but just stare at him and smile. "Does this happen often!?"
"Yes, and I'm sure they will get suspended."
"That sucks, but we might as well join the fun. Watch." He said with a bright smile as he began to climb out of the car.
"Wait, Michael! No!" I reached for his arm. If he got involved, he'd get in a lot of trouble. He slowly stopped and turned back to me.
"Why?" he said with a small smile. I was dumbstruck by his every move. I loosened my grip and forgot to speak. "That's what I thought" he laughed. Michael got out of my car and ran toward the fight. This won't turn out good.. I followed him towards the big blow out. The two guys fighting were two of the most popular kids in school. Kyler and Marqus. They were probably fighting over a girl or the label of being most popular. I never payed much attention to them, considering they're douche bags.
Michael jumped in the middle of the fight and tried to break them up. "Join the fun"? He's stopping it.. Kyler was already swinging when Michael jumped in and punched Michael square in the face. Kyler looked astonished that he accidentally punched the new kid. Marqus' hand covered his mouth and his eyes were wide. I didn't know Michael all that well, but I do know that any guy that gets punched is gonna get fired up. He had his fist raised and pulled back, ready to throw hands. I ran up to him and put one hand on his broad chest and another on his muscular arm. "Stop, stop, stop!" I shouted three times fast. He really didn't need to be involved in this.
"Get out of my way, Aurora. He isn't gonna get away with this." He might have to..
"Michael, please calm down. You don't need trouble on this first day. Think about this" I tried to elaborate, all the while I still had my hands placed on his body... He slowly lowered his arm and took a step back. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away as he walked in the other direction. He spoke no words as we walked to the back of the school. I don't think he knew where he was going, but he knew he was going somewhere. "Where are we going?" I asked, but he had no response. His jaw was clenched and he was gripping my hand very tightly. His eyes were narrowed, looking in one direction, and his nostrils were flared. I guess he has a bad temper. Noted.
We stopped at the southeast corner of the school. Our school took up nearly 3 blocks. I still have a hard time finding my way around, and this is my fourth year. "Explain to me why you felt the need to stop me from beating that guy to a bloody pulp." Okay, he was definitely mad.
"I told you, you don't need trouble on your first day. You're the new kid, no need to set a reputation of beating up other kids." He was staring deeply into my blue eyes while I was examining every inch of his face. I couldn't help but notice he had a large scar on the right side of his head, right below his part. Hair didn't grow there. I wonder what happened...
"That's not it. I don't care about my reputation as the new kid. Surely you don't, considering you don't even know me that well. So once again, I ask, why?" Honestly, I'm not sure why I didn't let Michael beat the life out of that kid. He surely did deserve it. Something just told me, Michael doesn't need that.
"I don't know." I knew why. I knew that I hadn't even known Michael for a full 24 hours and I already cared for him. I'm not sure why I do, though.
"Ha, okay." Michael snickered. He knew. I mentally face palmed for being an open book. When I first met Michael, he seemed like such a sweet guy; someone who would never hurt another for an accidental punch. But I guess looks can be deceiving, because I've never even seen any guy this angry, not even my father. "Are we just gonna sit here and stare at each other or..?" Michael blatantly shouted.
"You're the one who took us back here, Michael." He smiled and looked around as if he just now remembered where we were.
"Oh yeah" he laughed. Our hands were still intertwined, but I wasn't complaining. I looked down at our hands as did he.
"It looks good," I looked up at him in confusion. "Our hands." He smiled. I'd like to know why he's doing this to me.
"Yeah, I guess." I laughed.
"We'd look good together, you know. The new kid and the hottest girl in school." Ah, I literally just felt my face turn red. I looked down, trying to hide my 50 shades of red.
"You haven't even seen any other girl yet" I said a bit more quiet than my previous talking voice.
"Don't have to." I heard the smile in his voice. He put my chin in between his index finger and thumb and raised my head up. "You know you're beautiful, right?" He once again, smiled with his perfect set of teeth and beautiful lips. I didn't even respond, I was honestly mesmerized. "Cat got your tongue?"
"Uuhhh, no" I responded with the only words I could seem to get out.
"Yeah, it does." He chuckled. It seems that he's trying as hard as he can for me not to be able to speak. I wish I knew why my brain was a mess and I couldn't think. I've never tripped over a guy like this before. But before I could even think another thought, our lips were intertwined in a kiss. Okay, now I know why my brain was confused. This was definitely  worth the cluster in my head. Sheesh, this guy moves quick. I put my hand on his neck as he put his strong arms around my waste. It was a shame we couldn't stay in this moment forever, as the first bell rung, indicating that we had 5 minutes to get to our lockers and then to our first class. He tried to continue the kiss, but I had to be strong and pull away.
"We're gonna be late." I said shyly.
"Then let's make it worth it." He winked at me.
"No, we have to go" I laughed. He was a fighter. I walked away and he walked beside me, with his arm slung lazily around my shoulders. We walked into the building, and I had a new outlook on the Monday I so terribly dreaded.

Sorry if this seems to be fast paced, but I needed a few things to happen for my future chapters. Also, I'm sorry it took so long to update, I was honestly nervous and also had no clue where I wanted to go with the plot. However, I think I've figured it out. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for reading.
