Do you know that feeling when everyone is staring at you with anger and jealousy because you have the hot new car or those new pair of shoes they have been dying for? Well that was the situation now as the entire female population in our drama class drooled over Blake while managing to glare at me.

“Why are they all gawking?” Blake asked uncomfortably.

“They think you’re hot,” I rolled my eyes. This guy obviously hasn’t looked in a mirror yet. But that was good; it was nice to have someone who didn’t flaunt their assets.

“Okay! Take a seat, class!” Ms. Ritter, the drama teacher’s, voice echoed from the stage, “Make sure to fill up the rows in the middle only.”

Blake and I took seats near the front, while his new fan club crowded behind us and started giggling.

“Hey, did you replace me already?” Cyrus asked as he appeared beside me and sat down, “Who’s your new friend?”

“Blake, this is Cyrus. And Cyrus, this is Blake,” I introduced.

“Hey, man,” Blake smiled, giving Cyrus one of those fist bump hand shake things guys do.

“Nice to meet you,” Cyrus greeted in return. He continued to smile at Blake until he wasn’t looking.

“He’s stealing all the girls,” Cyrus whispered annoyed.

“Be nice,” I said sticking my tongue out at him. He returned the gesture and continued to pout and frown.

But what he said was very true. The girls really liked Blake. They gave him their full time and attention. Right now one chick, Natalie was shoving herself at him, stroking his arm in a way that somehow reminded me of a cheetah stroking its prey. Yeah…it was kind of creepy. He had a half scared half uncomfortable expression etched on his face…it was pretty funny.

Luckily, Ms. Ritter started class.

“Hello class, and welcome to Drama!” she announced, full of pep and enthusiasm. I had her last year too. She was a fun teacher to be around.

“Well, since this is the first day. Let’s introduce each other! Tell us your name, your grade, one thing you did over the summer, and a hobby. Now…you! The handsome one! Start!” Ms. Ritter said pointing over at Blake.

“Um, well, my name is Blake Matthews. I’m a senior. I went surfing a lot this summer, and one thing I like to do is…sing,” Blake answered.

Well, who knew the new golden boy liked to sing? I wondered if he was any good. He seemed to be the type that was good at everything though…
