(Clarke's pov)
"Clarke you ready to leave?" My dad yells as I walk down the spiraling stair case looking at the blank walls and peering into empty rooms of my soon to be old house. "In all honesty...no, why do we have to leave? Why can't they just move in with us? This is mom's house..." It hurts my brain so much and makes me not see so straight when thinking about how pretty soon my whole life is about to change. My mom passed away about a year ago due to cancer, and of course this has been a huge heartbreak. What's even a bigger heart break is that my dad started dating 3 months after the passing of my mom and he's already engaged to someone who looks like a bimbo and leaving my mothers house behind which has been passed down through generations. Apparently my great great great great and so on grandfather built the house. It sucks to leave it.
"Come on Clarke, don't be so negative, I know this house has meaning and how it's moms and that we have to leave it to go make a new change for both our lives."
"I'm not being negative." I tried to defend myself, even though he is pretty much 100% right.
"Yes you are Clarke, not only is this negativity about the move its about the marriage in 9 months..."
"Um yeah you got that right." I scoffed, crossing my arms.
"Anyways..." he continues "Do you think mom would appreciate the fact that I'm engaged and how I'm doing this for me and most importantly, for you. She wants you to grow up with a mother."
"Yeah but not some sex addict freak who can only afford a cheap boob job and face lift." I chuckle a bit at my comment but I'm speaking the truth from what I've seen in pictures, the women my dads marrying looks so uptight but yet quite snobby. And her children. They're so proper and it's just like I don't even know how to describe them. But if you just close your eyes for a second, visualize this as best as you can. Mother and daughter have perfect pale skin with brown hair and brown eyes while the brother same pale skin but blonde hair and green eyes which I assume he received from his biological father. Now if you add my father, tall guy dark brown hair somewhat tan and blue eyes. Finally add me into this one hectic family portrait, short about 5'3 with light brown hair and blues that I inherited from my mother. My dad and I are completely different from them as you might imagine. Right as I look up a cold stare shot back at me from my father.
"Clarke, that's so mean you cant say stuff like that, first of all she's not a bimbo. Second of all you're 17 you shouldn't being saying such garbage about people its rude. Finally third, you cant assume something about someone how you say a sex addict freak who can only afford a cheap boob job and face lift." I could tell my father was quite hurt at what I said, but it doesn't bother me what he's done this past year so I just couldn't care less.
"Whatever you say dad, I guess it's time to leave now...?"
"Yeah lets hit the road. Off to Minnesota!" My dad yells with so much excitement as we pick up the last of our luggage and boxes and stack them in the back of the moving truck. Minnesota, my new home state. It's going to be so different from going from one state to a next. From Washington State to Minnesota is quite a big move. But as I know for sure once we shut the door got into our car and started driving, my new life, my new story, my new beginning is just now starting.
