Chapter Five

Two years later....

Lucy's Pov

It's been the talk of the town once again. He's coming back. The one who made this whole town boom with such popularity. He conquered various international competitions and now put up his own billion dollar company in the making. Yes that is right.... Robert is coming to town once again.

His last year in college went awfully for Irelia. He graduated and just left everything he used to treasure the most. He left the town, Irelia, the library, his suppose friends. Everything that seem to have value was left behind. Now he's back and I know that the storms he promised is coming to town too.

I was so lost in deep thoughts when suddenly my phone started to ring. Its sooner than expected but I guess its either Macy or Irelia. Two step sister both smitten over a single man.

I didn't look on the screen name and just pressed the phone to my ears. It would either of the two.. I'm sure.

"Lucy!!! Help me!" Janet burst out the tone and I grew tense. Never had been any occasion where Janet is this panicky.

"Woah! Pipe down lady. What's up?" I asked curiously. There been a long pause over the phone so I thought she hung up. I looked again and the call is still going. "Still there?"

"It's Devin! He invited me for dinner and I agreed already but he added that he would bring a friend. It's all messy Lucy... What should I do?" she said in a single breath. She might be panicking but what for? It's just a friend..

"What's the problem? It's just a friend of him.. What is wrong with that?"

She inhaled deeply before saying again. Seriously... She's a mess!

"It's Robert Dantes, Lucy. He is the one dinning with us! What if he ruin my relationship? It's only two more months and we are getting married... He might break us apart if he spilled some dirty information! Help me Lucy..... I can't lose Devin..." she pleaded at me. I guess when he said storms to come he means this kind of complications. He wouldn't dare do this!

I spent three hours preparing myself and my friend for the dinner. She made a request that she would bring me over to dine with them. I was also looking forward for kicking his ass for daring to make dents on my friend's future marriage. I know we did a lot of awful things but he should not take it that far.

We arrive on the fancy restaurant that Devin booked for the night. Just a few minutes late because Janet kept on panicking and second guessing all the bad outcome of the meeting.

"Relax.. We would work something out okay? He won't matter at all. You and Devin were in love and made for each other. Nothing can pull you apart okay?" Janet smiled at me and gave me quick hug. I know she need that reassurance.

We walked in the room and I found myself staring eye to eye with Robert. It was such a magical moment where our gazes locked and the world seem to slow down but not because it is romantic... His eyes were the meaning of fury and retribution. I was stuck right in my position just stupidly looking at him.

His hair is longer than I remembered but he also looked more handsome. His broad shoulders and his stance was that of a proud and capable man. Beside him was a smiling Devin. Clueless as to what is to come. He was waving for us to come and we reluctantly took slow steps towards them. As we become closer, the more Robert's smile become clearer. It was not a pleasant sight... His smile hides venom and malice.

"Good evening Love." Devin pulled Janet closer and kissed her fully on the lips. She smiled at him for a few seconds before her eyes landed on the still smiling Robert.
