Chapter 2

"Ah sh*t, f*ck this hurts!" The person was getting bit and I was just watching. He struggles until he sees me.

"Hey!!! UGH, HELP!!! Hya!!!" I just look at him in despair cause there's nothing I could do. He was already bit. I couldn't risk it. It was too much. I started to cry and the 'thing' on top of the guy heard me and started to run towards me. I was about to get bit until I hear a BANG!!! I look at the 'thing' who's now lifeless. I look at my side and I see like 4 police cars.

A police man approaches me.

"Ah sh*t. E-66.6 got out. Sorry 'bout that. Welp. Now we have an infected." Then he looked at the bitten guy earlier who's been unconscious.

"I'm Officer Daniel G. Smith. Nice to meet you. 19 years old and I'm glad to help you anytime, anywhere." He told me while smiling. He extended his hand to me but I said,

"I ALMOST DIED!!! WH-WHAT IS THERE TO SMILE ABOUT?!?!?!"

"Look. Remember that every smiling face has a hidden tear." He patted my head while smiling and walked away. He was about to leave but then he faced me and said,

"H-Hey. You can come with me if you want. We're quarantine-ing the people here. It's safer if you stay with me."

"But... mom."

"Don't worry. She's probably already at the headquarters. There's a 89% chance she's safe."

"Well? How about the remaining 11%?"

"Well. We'll find out." He signaled his hand for me to come to him.

"Fine. But...."

"But?"

"But if she's not safe...."

"Don't worry. I feel guilty too. Now come." I sigh and go inside his police car. It's been a while and it's eerily silent until he told me,

"You okay?"

"Yeah."

"You sure."

"Mhmm."

"Okay then."

We arrive at the headquarters after 2 hours and the moment I step out the car, I see this big truck unloading the 'infected'. Suddenly I see someone familiar in the pile of corpse.
