Katie's POV
The snow was hitting my windshield rapidly, making me more anxious than I
already was. I can't believe I'm actually following Justin! This is
crazy! Oh never mind. It's just a bit of fun. After 20 minutes, or so, of driving, Justin finally pulled up to a gated
outdoor entrance, leading to some unknown location. A security guard
let him, Chaz and Ryan drive on in. I watched as Justin parked near a
black Range Rover, feeling my plan shatter. How am I supposed to get
through security? Resting my forehead against the steering wheel an idea
popped into my mind..."And you are?" The security guard arced an eyebrow at me as I stood before him, shivering in the snow.
"I'm... Its so sad! Help! There was... And I... I didn't know what to
do!" I burst into tears, putting on my amazing acting skills. The security guard looked at me with concern and looked where I was
pointing. I was pointing to the corner of the street where a few
carolers were stationed right beside a raggedy beggar. The security
guard's face turned into a confused state. To be honest, I didn't know
where I was going with this charade, but I was determined to get onto
set. When the security guard shifted his attention back to the carolers
and the beggar, I quietly dashed in through the gates, making sure no
one saw me.As soon as I was behind the scenes, I started taking in my surroundings.
It felt like I was in a christmas snow globe. There were bright
christmas lights dangling from the artificial lamp posts, fake fir trees
flooding the background, crisp white snow clothing the ground... The
cheery spirit wafted off every item, every person, every-- Justin. When I
spotted him, my knees went wobbly and weak. He was the only one not
looking happy.Justin's POV
Again! I'm stuck here... AGAIN! I was wearing the same winter outfit,
staring at the same bright decorations, listening to the same irritating
director and dreading the same meaningless kiss. I wanted this all to
be a bad dream that I'd soon wake up from."Justin, take your place," the director instructed.
I slowly trudged through the fake snow and stood beneath the sprig of mistletoe embedded between the Christmas lights.
Girl number 15 stepped in front of me. Her name was Melissa, if I
remember correctly. I'm not sure, she is number 15 after all. She had
soft strawberry-blonde waves of hair, bright green eyes and pink,
anticipating lips. She was gorgeous... But I didn't want her.The repetitive words of the chorus droned on as Melissa or girl number 15, leaned closer and closer and---
"Stop!"
Everyone shifted their attention to the trailers. The unexpected shout came from my trailer and it sounded like Chaz.
"Ignore it! And get back to work," the director ordered.
I shook off the interruption and focused on Melissa's lips once again.
As the song reached the introduction to the kiss, another interruption
took place. What now?!"Mel, it's your mom. She sounds hysterical," Melissa's agent stated, holding a sleek silver phone between her long fingers.
Melissa hurriedly dashed to her manager and pressed the phone to her ear. Her face was mixed with concentration and concern.
I stared at everyone with disbelief and annoyance. This time it wasn't
me delaying progress! I'm starting to think this music video just isn't
meant to be. Maybe I should give up on this nonsense."Justin, I have to go. I'm sorry. My brother was in an accident. Good
luck," Melissa said sternly before pecking my cheek and dashing off with
her manager.I slumped down into a director-style chair beside the refreshments table
and sighed. My mind flipped back to sweet memories of Katie's smile and
her soft touch and her beauty... I wish she was here right now."Justin?" My mom appeared next to me.
"Hey mom," I sighed once again.
"What's wrong, honey?" She placed her small hand on my shoulder.
"I... I'm starting to think this is all a mistake, mom. Maybe this is a
sign that this video should just be scrapped," I looked up at her.She rushed her slender fingers through my swooping bangs and kissed my forehead tenderly.
"Sweetheart, the video will get done. And I know it'll turn out amazingly," she smiled warmly and encouragingly.
"Thanks mom," I half smiled, not really believing her.
She smiled before walking off to chat with Scooter.
"You ready, Justin?" The money-obsessed director asked after finishing his rant to his timid assistant.
"Of course," I sarcastically emphasized.
He nodded plainly and rolled his eyes before positioning himself behind his camera.
I slugged off the chair and took my mark beneath the mistletoe.
Katie's POV
"What are you doing in here?!" Chaz looked at me with frantic confusion pouring from his face.
"I...I uh, just... Uhm..." I smiled sweetly, subtly examining the surrounding that is Justin's trailer.
"Ok... We get that you're a fan and all," Ryan smiled understandingly.
"Yeah..." I blushed and spotted a pair of Justin's boxers: a bright pink pair. Oh boy.
"Just don't cause any trouble," Chaz said.
"Oh please, I'm not the one who threw the 5 gift baskets against the door," I raised my eyebrow at Chaz.
"She's got you there, Chaz," Ryan tried to hold in his laughter.
"I thought she was a psycho intruder!" Chaz defended himself.
Ryan and I burst into soft laughter, causing Chaz to blush. Our laughing
was soon hushed by the sound of a serious and increasingly loud-pitched
voice."Where is she?! Where's the next girl!?" A man's voice echoed.
His face appeared in the doorway of Justin's trailer and he rested his eyes on me.
"You! What are you still doing here? You're meant to be on set!" He
grabbed my arm and pulled me out the trailer, making the bright
christmas lights a clear shimmer."Where's the female lead?!" The director shouted.
"Right here," the man holding my arm said.
My jaw dropped. Wait, female lead?!
