Tristan's POV:
I spend the whole night in the study, regretting what I did to her, the things that I said about her and especially for making Nate hit her. Guilt was eating me but the arrogance and pride were overtaking all the other emotions.
I picked the file of accounts of one of the night club in an attempt to distract myself from thinking about her horrified face when the study door burst open.
Nate stormed inside with the angry look on his face.
Before I could take a preventative stance, he landed a powerful punch on my face. I clenched my jaw and glared at him.
"Why did you force me to hit her, huh?" He yelled at me.
"I did what I thought was right," I answered him.
"She doesn't trust me anymore. I can see the fear in her eyes. She thinks I am like you!" He yelled.
"It's good if she doesn't trust you because you're going to break her trust anyway. It's even better if she thinks you're like me. Because you are like me, Nate," I told him with the smirk.
"I'm not like you and you know it, Tristan," he said, jabbing his finger on my chest.
"What do you think you are? A Prince Charming?" I asked him grabbing his arm in anger. "We're villains, not heroes, keeping her here against her will and torturing her. I told you not to get attached to her." I added.
Even though I knew how hard it was to not to get attached to her innocent face and her doe eyes. I wanted to hate her because she was that bastard's girl but I couldn't do it.
"If you want to pretend like a hero and fúçk her then do it. But remember that's all you can get from her, she is not going to hang around here for long," I said.
"Do you think I want to fûćk her?" He asked me in disgust.
I was confused at his question. I didn't understand why he would get so offended. The way he had been taking care of her and always around her made it clear that he wanted to claim her.
"It's clear. You're taking care of her, making her meals, and showing concern. If you want to keep her here then it's not possible and you know it," I told him.
He slumped down on the chair and rubbed his face.
"I am not interested in her," he said catching me off guard.
"But it doesn't look like that," I said confused.
"She looks like Madeline, my sister," he said.
I was shocked by his confession.
"You know how long I have been living in guilt for failing to protect my sister. When I saw Bella, I thought she was Madeline. Since then I have promised myself to protect her no matter what," he said with tears in his eyes.
I was cursing myself for being an aśśhole and making him his her.
"Trust me when she said I could be her brother I felt the void in my heart rejuvenating. I promised her that I wouldn't let anybody hurt her. But look I have failed to do anything for my sister once again," he said leaning his head back so his tears wouldn't fall.
I felt like a real jerk at the moment. I knew how sensitive the topic of his sister was for him but I couldn't show grief and look soft.
"Nate, she isn't your sister. You need to understand that your sister is dead and that girl just looks like her. If Gabriel managed to get that chip, I hardly believe he would, but then we will have to kill her. She can't leave this place alive after learning so much about us. If you want to keep her alive, the least we can do is send her to our allies brothel," I said in callous tone.
