as a boy his eyes were round and the clearest blue, like a sky with no clouds. he had hope running through his veins. he used to run free, caring only about what laid ahead on his adventures. now he stays locked up, only caring about when he will escape from his tower and explore again, if ever.
he sat at his vanity, looking himself up and down, seeing a man who had grown up too fast from the boy he once was. victor picked up the stray comb that sat beside a vase of flowers. combing his hair, he began to hum an old song his mother used to sing to him. he smiled thinking back to the few memories he had of her; she was absolutely lovely and had the same luscious, platinum colored hair that victor had.
his daydream was interrupted by the turning of his doorknob. lilia, his stepmother, walked into his room, bringing nothing but her guilt to throw at victor.
"victor, you can't lie around moping all day. let's get you some fresh air." she said, pushing the only window open in the tower.
smells of spring filled the room, leaving victor's senses tingling. he smelled the rose bushes and apple trees from nearby, wishing he could be exposed to it fully.
"did you need something, lilia?" victor asked, hoping to get her to leave.
"just checking in on you. you've been less talkative lately. has something been bothering you? you can always talk to me about your problems, alright victor?" she said, massaging victor's shoulders brutally.
he rolled his shoulders so she would let go of him. he stood up, walking over to the open window and taking in the fresh air. soon after, lilia slammed the window shut while locking it and left victor's room, locking the door as well.
victor ran to his vanity, grabbing a bobby pin to unlock the lock on his window and successfully doing what he wanted. he crawled out of it onto the balcony, dragging all of his hair out with him.
he hadn't had lilia measure his hair in a while but it had to be close to 70 feet by now. victor had never cut his hair even though he thought about it sometimes, but lilia forbid him to ever do so.
victor walked to the edge of the balcony, looking down to see the many colorful flowers that were spread among the green grass. he sat down and looked up at the sky, which was cloudless. he saw his childhood in the sky; clear and beautiful. nothing stopped him then, and now he was dictated by his evil stepmother.
victor hummed the same song he had earlier, making him grin a bit. he let the heat soak into his skin and the smells absorb him until he was a part of the earth, just like everyone else. he took a big breath, driving his senses crazy with the aura of spring.
victor fiddled with his hair, braiding it aimlessly. he laid his head against the edge of the balcony, eyes slowly shutting. his head swirled with memories and thoughts of what life would be like of he actually got to see the world. victor was almost asleep when a sound escaped from below—from a person.
"hello? my name is yuuri katsuki and i, well...," he paused, chuckling, "i'm lost. could anyone be of some help?"
victor perked up, unsure of if he should help the man from below out or do as his mother said and ignore anyone from the outside world. he swallowed, slowly standing up and peeking down over the edge. he laid his eyes on a black haired man with a small body, wearing a matching purple shirt and pants along with a white undershirt and black boots. to wrap the whole outfit up, he had a sword on his right side.
