Say What Must Be Said

Chapter 1 The start of it all!

"I will now announce the squads" Iruka sensei said while eyeing his paper. Naruto shifted in his seat excitedly. He was finally able to take the next step in his dream to become Hokage.

"Squad 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and...huh?" Iruka looks up and glances between Naruto and sasuke; Lightning shooting between their eyes. he sighs. I'm glad I put her on their team. Hopefully she'll keep them in check. Glancing one last look at his paper he announces their final teammate... "Kiku Suzuki"

Everyone looks around. No one seems to stand out. "Kiku, please make yourself known to the class" Iruka adds sternly. With a puff of smoke, a petite young girl appeared behind sensei. She had snow white hair, bright blue eyes, and wore a light blue sleeveless shirt with a dark pair of shorts. She looked up from a book she was reading and stared at her new teammates. Iruka sighed (which he seemed to do a lot lately). Kiku smirked then ran up to the two who were too busy glaring to notice. Kiku lifted her hand and made a slicing motion between the two. Having broken the trance, the two boys slowly followed the hand up to its owner. Sasuke keeping his glare while naruto just looked stunned. "Nice to meet you. My name is Kiku suzuki. I'm your other teammate" She kept her hand out and grinds.

It took naruto a few seconds to process what she had said while sasuke simply did his signature "Hn". Naruto, finally understand what was going on, smiled, grabbed her hand a shook it. "I'm Naruto Uzumaki". Kiku nodded then glanced over to Sasuke. She grinned maliciously. She was gone in a flash and reappeared by Sasuke's side. Sasuke barely had time to react and when she whispered something to him. Sasuke froze his fist in mid swing. She didn't... Kiku simply smiled "well?" Sasuke simply sat down "hn". Kiku giggled then turned her attention to Naruto. "well, I'll see you tomorrow!" She flipped out her book and disappeared. The class being just as stunned as Naruto, simply sat silently confused. Iruka sighed. Good thing I announced their squad last.

The next day, all the squads got together to await their new sensei's. one by one, the groups left, leaving only squad 7 in their old classroom. Naruto is sitting on the floor near the sliding door tapping his foot impatiently. Sasuke sits at one on the classroom tables, resting his chin on his folded hands. His eyes remain closed but occasionally open to peer around the room. Kiku is seen writing intently, giggling when glancing up between her fellow teammates. Naruto notices. "Hey Kiku!" He grins widely. "What'cha writing about?"

Kiku glances to Sasuke who looks momentarily interested until they make eye contact.

"You don't hate the dobe, do you." Her words from yesterday resurface in his mind.

She's not wrong. Sasuke's pride pulls him to look away uninterested. I... He spares a glance toward the dobe. I...tolerate him. Kiku smiles and returns her attention to Naruto.

"I'm rewriting a story for what it is." She states proudly. Naruto squints his eyes in confusion and crosses his arms. "I don't get it..." Kiku simply smiles knowingly. "You will someday."

It was at this moment Kakashi finally came through the door. "Yo, sorry but I got-"

"Lost on the path of life, right?" Kiku finishes for him. Kakashi looks to Kiku, Sasuke, then Naruto, taking mental notes of his new squad. A know-it-all, a loner, and a trouble maker. He nods and speaks his mind. "My first impression..., I hate all of you."
