Olivia and Lucy are sitting in the living room at her apartment. Olivia is growing impatient and worried. Tucker is usually on time and always calls if he's going to be late Olivia gets no answer, and she tries a couple more times, then gives up. She's concerned.

Tucker is about two blocks from Olivia's apartment when two kids are walking towards him. A boy and a girl; in the early 20s, late teens. The boy walks up to Tucker and pulls out a small knife "money now! " the boy yells. Tucker hands them his wallet and his watch. When he feels the ring in his pocket, he won't give them the ring.

The girl notices the bump in his pocket where the ring is. " he said, empty your pocket, " The girl screamed as the boy pushed Tucker up against the wall. He reached for his sidearm but left it in his locker at 1PP. The girl reached in Tucker's pocket while the Boy held him against the wall. When he pulls out the ring box, Tucker pushes the boy back and tries to grab the ring; the girl backs up and pulls out a slightly bigger knife. She stabs Tucker repeatedly in the abdomen.

Tucker falls to the ground bleeding; The two kids take off running. Tucker gets out his phone and calls 911 " Hello, this is Captain Ed Tucker, badge Number 289364. I need immediate medical attention". Tucker and can feel himself losing consciousness. I am on 23 street and Collins." Tucker then loses consciousness completely.

The paramedics arrive 5 minutes later, they are able to stabilize Tucker and get him to the hospital. As they wheel Tucker in, he regains consciousness for a minute as he is being rushed into emergency surgery. Tucker pulls a nurse's arm, " call Olivia," then Tucker loses consciousness again.

The nurse does what he asked; she picks up his phone to see 7 missed calls from Olivia Benson and the home screen. She pressed redial, Olivia is sitting on the couch she sent Lucy home an hour ago. It was about 9:30. When her phone goes off, she looks at it to see that it's Tucker calling.

Olivia picks up "Ed, where the hell have you been," the nurse says " Hello, is this Olivia Benson" shocked that it a woman voice " Yes, who is speaking and why are you calling from Ed Tucker's phone" Olivia waits for an answer "I'm a nurse at Metro general Mr. Tucker asked me to call you, I assume you are next of kin" Olivia looks around her living room, trying to stay calm, she's afraid to ask "Oh god is he ok? " The nurse changes her tone to a softer calm tone. " He was stabbed multiple times in the lower abdomen one of the wounds punctured his spleen, he in surgery now" Olivia starts to move around her apartment, trying to get ready, " ok, I.. I uh, I'll be there as soon as I can."

Olivia hangs up the phone as her breathing becomes erratic. Olivia starts to get ready then hears Noah's baby monitor, she already sent Lucy home. Hence, she calls Carisi, " Hey can you come over and watch Noah an emergency, " Carisi says, " anything liv I'll be there in 5" He five minutes later, there's a knock at the door, Olivia answers. She lets him in, Carisi can tell something wrong, Carisi has a lot of strong women in his life, and Olivia is no exception. Based on the look on her face, the last time she was this scared, he and Tucker were guiding Olivia from the townhouse, so It had to be serious.

Carisi enters Liv's apartment, Carisi squeezes her shoulders then says, " take a deep breath Liv" she follows his directions Carisi asks, "what wrong ?" Olivia looks down at her phone and answers," Ed was stabbed, so I'm uh, uh not sure how long " Carisi her off and says " go, I got this, I will call Lucy in the morning to drop off Noah at daycare" Carisi walks Olivia to her door and hands her bag and coat then opens the doors.

Olivia drove to the hospital on a Thursday night, there wasn't much traffic on the roads. The whole time Olivia was driving she her mind was racing, thinking about how he made her feel safe when she was scared or how he loved Noah as much as she did, how she would feel like there was one else in the world when she looked into his eyes.

Once at the hospital, Olivia ran into the hospital where a nurse was standing at the nurse station. the nurse noticed Olivia looking distraught, " you ok, sweetheart?" Olivia pulls her bag up her shoulder. "I got, I got a call, my, my Ed Tucker that he's here" the Nurse walks around the station and places a hand on her back to guide her to his room "come on, sweetheart, his room is this way." The Nurse takes her up an elevator then guides her into the room. Olivia sits in a chair at Tucker's bedside and asks, " what happened" the nurse picks up Tucker's chart then says, " well, it looks like he was brought in with municipal stab wounds, we rushed him into emengry surgery, and we had to remove his spleen, but it looks like he's going to make a full recovery."

The nurse was about to turn and leave the room when she turned and handed Olivia a ring box. " he was holding this when paramedics found him, I think it belongs to you" Olivia looks between the box and the nurse in shock, "thanks" Olivia smiles. Olivia realizes what the small box is and doesn't open it; she puts it back in his jacket pocket.

Olivia sits beside Tucker and falls asleep for the last two hours. It has been extremely draining, but she wakes up when she hears Tucker starting to stir. Tucker slowly starts to open his eyes, he sees Olivia asleep and their hands intertwined with his. Olivia moves so she's facing him. Olivia goes to stand and get the nurse when she feels a tug on her arm. Tucker tries to sit up, Olivia puts her hands on his chest to keep him in bed.

"You scared the hell out me, Ed'' Tucker reaches out and puts his hand on her cheek.

Olivia smiles, in a low, raspy voice, Tucker says," Sorry, I was late for dinner. " She squeezes his hand "that's ok but doesn't ever do that to me again." Tucker smiles as the doctor walks in.

Looking down at his clipboard. "Well, Captain, you are a lucky man. The knife missed your liver, but it hit your spleen, We had to remove it, a weeks bed rest, no physical activity, then came back in and we will see how your healing " the doctor looks up, then prescribes some pain medication " you have to stay the night then you should be discharged in the morning" Trucker settles back in bed and Olivia settles in the chair beside him for the night.

The next morning, around 8 am the doctor walks into the room and hands Olivia and Tucker his discharge papers. Olivia steps out of the room while Tucker starts his paperwork to call. Carisi and check on Noah and to call Fin to check on the squad.

First, she calls Carisi, he picks up after two rings " hey liv, hows tucker" Olivia looks around " he's ok, missing a spleen, but he's going to make a full recovery" Carsis says " don't worry about Noah, he slept through the night, I called Lucy, told he what's going on, she fed him and took him to daycare and Lucys going to pick him after as well."

While Carisi is on the phone with Liv, Fin and Amanda, walk-in in the squad room, Carisi tell liv, " hey, fin and Amanda just got back, I am putting you on speaker" Olivia answers, "ok" Amanda is the next to talk " hey Liv, I will pick Noah up today and take him to my place tonight, give you and Tucker some time to settle" Olivia sighs " thank you, Amanda, I appreciate that'' Fin is the next one to spoke " hey liv, we got it handled here, don't worry" Olivia smiles " Thank you guys, I will call you to check in later" Olivia hangs up the phone and walks back into Tuckers room where a nurse is helping tucker into a wheelchair, she takes over and pushes him out the hospital doors to her car.
