I sat at the meeting table waiting. There was a new recruit coming, a daughter of someone or something else. Dad stopped pacing when the door opened and three people walked in. Amanda and Harold Gaunt, then... Katniss? She looked at me and smiled a sheepish grin. My jaw dropped. Jewel sat next to me and giggled, earning a disapproving look from her parents. Kat took her place at the table.
After the meeting I stormed over to Kat. "Katniss Isabelle Jackson Gaunt, I need an explanation now!" She looked down and tried to hide her grin. 'When I heard you were a witch I had to keep who I was from you because everyone knows that the Gaunts are related to the Riddles which makes them bad news." I nodded, then it clicked. "That's kinda creepy..." I muttered "What is?" Kat asked "You're my dad's cousin" Kat gave me a goofy grin "Well, that makes me your second cousin!' She hugged me.
Later, I sat outside watching the sunset. "Sorry about yesterday" I turned and saw Draco. He sat next to me and I smiled up at him "It's alright, I was just a little freaked out. I mean, you bullied me for years!" He scratched the back of his neck "Yeah, sorry about that" he smiled apologetically. I played my head on his shoulder and sighed.
Maybe I do like him.
