I Love You... With 1/3 of my Heart

The Last Piece

Recap:

"I love you, Alex." He whispered softly into my ear.

"Aiden, I might love you too, but what about Lewis? I still love him. So the most I can say is I love you with half of my heart. I am SO sorry." I finally said.

"Well I guess half is better than nothing." And with that he kissed me.

It was less heated than the last one but what it lacked in heat it made up with in how gentle it was. I was kissing him back. When out of nowhere, shattering our perfect world, I heard:

"ALEX, AIDEN! WHAT THE HELL!!!!"

It was Lewis.

New Chapter:

Shit. Why the hell did he have to wake up!?! After he had seen that he climbed onto my bed and actually yanked Aiden off the bed. After that all hell let loose. Lewis punched him square in the face, but then Aiden got up and started punching back. It was like Chris and I had front seats to the ultimate fighter. Aiden was trying to pin Lewis down so he could explain what had just happened, but Lewis refused to listen he just tackled Aiden and kept on throwing punches. I, of course, being the idiot I am, tried to break it up.

"Lewis, let him go! Let him explain, dammit!" I yelled into deaf ears, my dad had already left (of course he could never be late to his oh so important job. He just left me sleeping with a bunch of guys, you know something any so called father would do) subsequently he didn't hear what was going on, thank God for absentee fathers.

"NO! When I wake up I don't wanna see this douche making out with my girlfriend!" he yelled . Damn he was pissed.

"Douche! Seriously?!?! He's one of your friggin best friends!" I said

 I tried to pry them apart again but this time I was accidentally kicked and punched. When they saw had a bloody nose and my right eye was swelling the stopped.

"What the hell?!?!" I yelled.

"Oh I'm so sorry, Alex, really!" Aiden said. I could tell he really meant it but I was too pissed to care.

"Come on lets go get you cleaned up. Babe I'm sorry." Lewis said always the thoughtfull one. Note the sarcasm.

"No! Don't touch me! Either one of you! Both of you in the living room! NOW!!" I said. I was beyond pissed, "Chris will you help me get cleaned up?"

Chris had just been standing there not bothering to help me pry the boys apart. What the hell was wrong with them today?

"Fine come on." he said

"Alex, come on. I'm sorry." Lewis said

"Yeah come on it was an accident, please." Aiden said.

They both looked really guilty and I felt kind of bad for being mad at them but then my eye started throbbing again.

"I want you in the living room now dammit." I growled. I was trying to scowl but failed miserably due to the injuries these idiots had caused.

They both went hesitantly. Chris led me to the bathroom where he cleaned me up. After he finished he made us some peanut butter sandwiches. When we headed to the living room I saw Lewis and Aiden sitting on opposite sides with their arms crossed not looking at each other. Fine they want to act like kids who got in trouble? That's the way I'll treat them.

"Okay now what we're gonna do is that Aiden is gonna talk and then Lewis is going to respond, calmly. If either one of you speaks out of turn you loose your speaking privileges for five minutes." I said with one hand on my hip standing in front of them. This may look weird if someone were to just walk in, but I've always taken the role of fixing their issues when something happens. Aiden gets in trouble with the dad of some girl he hooked up with and never called back I'm called in to try and get him out of it. Lewis is accused of shoplifting I bail him out and ground him. Chris and Mary get in a fight I sit them down and work it out. Always been that way and always will be.

"Lewis, come on we're best friends you can't be that mad at me. I've already talked to you about this before. You knew this was gonna happen, man." Aiden says. Wait what does he mean they've talked about it before? I shoot him a puzzled look. Which he responds to by shrugging his shoulders.

"I just didn't want to believe it and there's a difference between hearing about it and actually seeing it. She's MINE dammit!" Lewis yells. Dafuq does he mean by 'mine'?

"See right there! That's why it won't end well she's not another trophy you can claim!" Aiden responds.

"Like hell I can't!" with that he gets up and storms out of the house. Slamming the door behind him.

Aiden follows.

It's just me and Chris now standing there in a terrifyingly loud silence for five minutes.

Thats when we he finally started talking to me. Oh here we go.

"Alex what is wrong with you?" he finally said.

"What do you mean?" I asked, frowning.

"I mean Aiden loves you and he has ever since he met you. The only reason he goes out with those girls is to make you jealous. Why can't you see that?" he asked softly

"I love Aiden , but I love Lewis too and I can't be doing this to both of them, its just unfair to both of them." I said groaning, "What happened to the good old days when we were all just friends and you all supported Lewis and I?"

"Oh that? That was all a lie Aiden has been protecting you from his feelings forever. Its just all bubbling to the surface now." He said with a shrug, "If it counts for anything I cast my vote for Aiden. The real question is, who do you see yourself having a future with?"

For some reason when he said that I didn't start thinking about Lewis or Aiden, I thought about Chris. I thought about how he knew me inside out, better than I even knew myself. I thought about how when I was down he would buy me ice cream, vanilla to be exact. I thought about how cute he was and people were always saying we would make a cute couple. I then knew I loved Chris, but not in the way your supposed to love your best friend. Dammit.

"Crap." I muttered. He heard me, of course.

"What" he said

"I just realized something." I replied

"And what was that?" he asked

"This." And I leaned up and kissed him.
