Chapter 2 - The Coffee Shop

I count the money I have in my hand and calculate how much I need for groceries. I decide I needed to treat myself and I stop at the small coffee shop on the corner. It's quiet at this time in the day. I get my regular. Black coffee with a little cream and a little sugar.

I start walking towards the grocery store thinking about everything. I wonder why Brandon started acting this way and what I ever did to deserve this. I'm looking at my feet as I am way too caught up in my thoughts. I didn't even realize I had bumped into someone until I felt my coffee splash up on me. This quickly brought me out of my thoughts as a I shrieked, landing on the ground.

"I'm so sorry I just...I have a meeting I have to get to and I wasn't paying attention and..." I heard someone mumble above me. Weird. You don't normally hear British accents in this part of the US. I'm just in a small town nobody wants to visit. There's nothing special here.

I'm trying to regain composure after what just happened and my eyes fall upon the most gorgeous -beautiful if I might add- guy I've every laid eyes on. His brown hair was tousled around and his blue eyes were so piercing and addicting. He had a cute little button nose and a smile to light up any world. I could tell he was in complete distress over what had happened but was still trying to fight off laughter.

"It's alright. I should've been paying attention to where I was going." I murmured, still in awe. He outstretches his arm to help me up. I take his hand in mine and he hoists me back up. My shirt started to fall down my arm and I quickly pull it back down to my wrists. God, I hope he didn't notice.

"I know this is my fault so I'm going to buy you another coffee and I won't take no for an answer." He said sternly but also jokingly.

"But the meeting-"

"No. That's fine. It can wait. Paul will understand," he swiftly cut me off before pulling me into the coffee shop.

We walk up to the counter and I feel like everyone's eyes are on me. I absolutely hate it and I wish they would all mind their own business.

"So what do you get?" He asks. God, that accent. I could just die for it.

"Uh..just a black coffee is fine. I sometimes get a little sugar and cream." I smiled sheepishly.

"Well, that's about to change. I'm going to surprise you," he said before ordering two coffees and sitting by a window table. I sighed and followed him before sitting down. Nothing else I could do about it now.
