Prologue

I stared down at my paper, tuning out the teachers annoying chatter. I began to draw small shapes in the corner, not knowing what I was actually trying to draw.

My thoughts raced through my head like they were on crack, something that happened quite frequently. I never understand why they did this. Did you want to be heard? Did they want out?

The room became eerily quiet as I finished my doodle. A tapping could be heard in the distance from another student, echoing through my mind like a bomb.

I quickly brought my hands up to my ears, trying to drown out the noise. The tapping only got louder as I tried to focus on something else, anything else.

I clenched my hands into fists around my ears, squeezing my eyes shut and resting my head down on my desk. The tapping continued to get louder, driving me stir crazy.

I flung myself up causing the chair to fly back. Everyone stopped their prior tasks to look at me. Small mummers could be heard all around the class.

"Ms. Hwa? Ms. Hwa, is everything alright?"

The voice of my teacher surrounded my thoughts, pulling them together. I hesitantly removed my hands from the sides of my head, meeting eyes with Mrs. Hana. Her voice trailed through my head once again.

"Ms. Hwa, are you alright?"

My eyes traced every inch of her face. I didn't know what was going on, my thoughts had stopped. Everything stopped.

I just shook my head before grabbing my bag and leaving the room. Mrs. Hana could be heard in the distance calling for me to come back as I ran down the hall.

I finally made my way outside, running into the road with tears streaming down my face. I wasn't completely sure why I was crying, but I couldn't do anything to stop it from happening.

The world around me seemed to slow down as I looked down the road, a car heading my way. I tried my hardest to move, but nothing seemed to happen. My body was frozen in time as the car became closer.

Everything became silent for a few moments, before the car finally made contact with my body. My vision became blurred and a loud ringing invaded my ears.

I was flung back into the pavement, my head making impact first. I stared up at the blue sky before my eyes fluttered shut. I reopened them to see a blurry figure above me.

"Hold still, paramedics are on their way!"

The voice was so distant and off, but I knew it was coming from above me. My eyes shut yet again, staying closed for a while. The sound of sirens soon became audible.

~~~~~~~~~~
After what seemed like years, I opened my eyes once again. Instead of being met by the overly white hospital room that I was expecting, I found myself in my own room.
I furrowed my eyebrow in confusion before sitting up. The sound of tapping invaded my thoughts yet again. I looked to my night stand and at my alarm clock. Seeing that it was June 10 at 6:32am, the tapping was actually my alarm going off for school.
"Was that all just a dream?" I whispered to myself.
The events that occurred just a few moments prior raced through my head.
"There's no way I dreamt all of that. It was all too real.."
