-Why is this my life? -said Malkaz, as he was feeling depressed, like always. He was different from all the other foxes. Not physically, but he thought in a different way from the other foxes. And due to this fact, his life seemed miserable.
-About time you woke up!!!
-What the? Well good morning to you too...Emilia...-Said Malkaz to his mate with a sarcastic voice.
In this pack, all the new born foxes already had pre-determined mates. It didn't matter if you where OK with it or not, you just had to live with it.
-Could you hurry up and hunt me a rabbit or something?! I'm starving!!
Malkaz gave her a mean look, as if saying "Shut up, I'm on it!" as he left they're home.
And so he went for his morning hunt to feed his foxy, annoying, irritating, selfish and popular mate.
-If she werent so important I would just end her while she sleeps, not a single sound made. -thought malkaz- But our parents wouldn't be the only ones who wouldn't like that, but the entire pack, and specialy the males as well.
Malkaz was the son of the clan leader's advicer, so he was destined to be the next advicer once his father passed away. And he was mated with Emilia because she was the daughter of the slyest fox in the clan, and they knew that they're pup would have the brains of a war genius, and the it would also be the slyest of the slyest.
But she wasn't popular with the males of the clan because of that, as the term self explains itself, she was "foxy", and she flirted with any male she saw attractive. And even sometimes do naughty things with those who dared to do so. Malkaz knew about it, but since he had no feelings over her other than hate, he didn't gave a damn about it. And since he wasn't Emilia's "type" she made no attempt to even be nice to him.
As Malkaz walked around the forest, he heard a flock of ducks taking a rest in the lake.
-Perfect- thought Malkaz. As he slowly approached the flock, he made sure the wind was blowing from the ducks towards him, so the prey wouldn't get the hunters sent. Ducks aren't much for sniffers, buy it was already a habit for him, since he was more familiar with hunting prey that had a good sent of smell. He launched himself towards the fattest looking one, all the ducks flew away, except the fat one who wasn't as fast and lucky as the other ducks.
There, I catched myself a meal. But, I have to bring it back for...her...perhaps, I could eat it all now, and say I was unlucky...No, she would see the blood on my fangs, and smell the duck scent on my mouth...Maybe I could say a wolf pack crossed my path and I exchanged it for my life? Nah, she cares more about her meal than her mate. She is lucky I'm smart, or else I would eat it whole right here and now! -Said the angry fox as he brought breakfast for his horrible mate.

As Malkaz approached his home, he could smell the sent of another fox, and the closer he got home the stronger it got. Once near the entrance, he dropped the duck he had been holding in his mouth all along, holding back all his instincst to bite it while carrying it. He peeked inside and saw her doing "naughty" things with none other than Trayan.
Trayan was the son of the pack's leader, and the pack's future leader. He was always so full of himself, thinking he deserved everything he got and wanted. It was no surprise to Malkaz to find the two of them doing naughty things while he went hunting. Those two where made one for the other. -Why didn't he get my mate and I get his instead? It would have been perfect! -Thought malkaz as he left the area around his home as quiet as a mouse, taking his duck with him.
Once far enough, he decided to have the whole duck for himself. -That's what you get for not being loyal you b!7$#. - But right before he got his first bite he realized. If Trayan was with Emilia, then who was hunting for Sora? Sora was Trayan's mate, and the eternal crush, but forbidden love of Malkaz. She was the nicest, most caring, most beautiful, most modest and shyest fox in the entire pack, heck, in the entire world!!! Why did she have to end up with HIM!?! Oh right, they're parents arranged that the leader's son would mate with the daughter of the handsomest and most beautiful foxes in the pack. Why was life so unfair?!
And so, Malkaz decided to check if Sora had eaten anything this morning, or if she had eaten anything this past week! On his way there Malkaz couldn't stop thinking of how he would approach her. He couldn't be flirty or else a horrible love triangle would start, or, I guess it would be a love square if you count Emilia. So he decided that he would just approach her like always, in fact, the two of them had been friends since pups. So there was no reason for anyone to suspect neighter of them having feeling for each other.
Once there, he found Sora, listening to the sounds of nature, waiting for her mate to return with a big meal. Malkaz knew that wouldn't happen, so he decided to share his duck with her.
As always, Malkaz tried to sneak up on her, and startle her, but he did that so many times that Sora always had her sharp senses on.
-Hey Malkaz. -She said with a huge grin on her face.
-How did you know it was me?
-I could smell the scent of duck, and Trayan always makes a big entrance when he returns home. And you're the only fox who is always trying to startle me.
-Note to self, work on my stealth skills. -Said Malkaz in attempts of making her laugh.
She giggled. -So what brings you here so early? Aren't you supposed to be hunting for Emilia?
Malkaz did everything in his power to prevent any expressions of surprise leave his face. -I already gave her a rabbit, she was ungrateful as always.
-I bet.
-And since winter is coming it's getting harder to find prey, I was lucky I found a rabbit AND a duck on my way here today. And I'm not sure if Trayan will be able to catch anything today, so I brought you this.
He showed the dead duck to Sora. -Whoa! That's a fat one! - She said with an impressed tone on her voice. -But you didn't have to, Trayan always brings me something to eat, no matter what.
Oh, I see. -Malkaz remembered seeing Trayan beating some other foxes and taking they're food from them a couple of times. Maybe that's why he ALWAYS brought Sora something to eat. That sly fox!
Sora noticed his ears folding downwards, a sign he was feeling a bit down. -Dont worry, YOU can eat your duck, if your not full from the rabbit that is. -Said Sora in hopes to chear him up.
-Oh, umm, yeah. I barely had any, so I'm still a bit hungry. I guess I shall eat this duck myself.
She smiled. Suddenly Malkaz felt a strong urge to leave as fast as he could. And so he did what the urge told him to do. -Umm, Sora. I just remembered I have to meet up with my father, his gonna teach me some important intel only the adviser can know. And I totally forgot about it and I'm running late.
-Ok. -She said, oblivious to his true reason to leave.
-Well, see ya. -He said while running away, duck in mouth.
As he ran away he noticed Trayan in the distance, with a rabbit in his mouth, on his way home. -Had I stayed a little longer he would have beaten the hell out of me. -Relieved, Malkaz kept prancing for one more mile before stopping to enjoy the duck he had been holding all morning. -Finally, I get to eat. -He slowly put the duck on the floor. And told it. -Please forgive me duck, I took your life to feed my mate, but instead I've been carrying your corpses around like a toy all morning long. And now in the end, I'm gonna eat you myself. Please forgive me, for you also saw what my mate did, and this is what she deserves. -Once he finished his prayer he finally started eating.
-Damn this is duck tastes good.
