Note to readers: this chapter is slow. it's a little backstory for my main character, as well as a little bit about how she ended up where she is now.

"okay, for the next two weeks, just avoid kissing heavily, no oral sex, and your best friend is going to be this bottle" I said, handing my customer a 20 oz bottle of half water, half mouthwash. "rinse every time you eat, drink, smoke, or put anything in your mouth. swish for about a minute and then spit." Ahhh. the life of a piercer. I looked at my clock and sighed. done for the day! No sooner did I have that thought did my phone ring. "Yes?" I answered It was none other than Reily Kyles, my partner in crime since our days in diapers.
"you'll be here soon, right?"
"Ry, I'm getting in to my car and leaving in about 20 minutes, so I'll be pulling up to your driveway in a little over five hours."
"Sweet! we're going to have such a good time!"
"I expect nothing shy of fucking EPIC" I said, grinning.
"Philly misses you!" Reily exclaimed.
"Philly won't know what hit it."
"oh, just get here! See you soon!"
"love yah!"
"love you too!"
I ended the call and cleaned up my piercing room. when I was done I walked in to the lobby.
"Looking forward to vacation?" Dina, our shop manager asked.
"You have NO idea!" I said.
"hurry back to us! your customers will miss you." she said as I took the money out of my piercing envelope.
"see you in two weeks!" I said grabbing my jack skellington hoodie and walking out the door.
i pulled my black hair in to a messy bun on top of my head, and slid my sunglasses on as I walked toward my black Mercedes SLK.
I started my car and headed towards 264.
With 5 hours of open road ahead of me, I popped my ipod on to the stereo cable and hit shuffle. Coheed and Cambria began to blast from my car's speakers. A good start to the trip.
I began to think about my life, and the path that lead me to Virginia. I was born and raised in a small town outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania called Rosemont. It's on the Main Line, and everyone there knows EVERYONE else. It's the town you drive through where everything is perfect and not a single blade of grass is out of place. Well, I was that blade of grass that just wouldn't stay where it belonged. I went against everything Rosemont was about. I didn't play field hockey and I could care less what Abercrombie & Fitch sold in their stores. I found my comfort in my trips to Philadelphia with Reily and Jasmine, Rosemont's other outcasts. During the week, the three of us could be found at Agnes Irwin Day, an all girls prison where we wore the ugliest uniforms and found ways to make them look somewhat attractive. Everyone else did the same thing, but the three of us had our own definition of "attractive".Senior year was fun. Lots of concerts, rebelion, and the usual senior shit. After graduation, we all decided on different paths but agreed that we would meet up at least once a year. I went to Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA, Jasmine went to Penn State, and Reily ended up at a college up north a bit called Mount Holyoke. four years later I had my degree in criminal psychology, and a learned trade: Body piercing.
