Stiles pov
"Don't let them in" "don't don't let them in" "d-don't" "n-no no no" I said sweating and rolling around in my bed as I open my eyes I realize I'm in a locker. How the hell did I get in here? I start banging frantically on the locker and it finally slams open and I fall out but catch myself from falling on my face. I then realize I'm in the boys locker room of my school
I walk down the hall and into a classroom. Nothing is there but the nemiton which is a large tree stump where they did human sacrifices.
I walk up to it slowly and reach my hand out and then suddenly, roots come up from the stump and wrap around my wrist
That's when I wake up gasping for air
"Hey you okay?" Maddy says sitting up in my bed concerned
"Yea it was weird it was like a dream inside a dream"
"You mean a night mare?" she says stroking my arm and squeezing it for comfort. She puts her hand on my knee and a grab her hand holding it
"Yea" I say.
Wait... maddy? what was she doing in my bed? Not that I don't mind but how the hell did she get here?
"Wait a sec maddy? what are you doing here?" I say and look at her confused
All of a sudden my door creaks open and I get up
"What are you doing stiles just go back to bed"
"But what if they get in"
"What if who gets in?" she asks
"Come on stiles just go back to bed" she said again but I get up anyway
"Stiles what are you doing? just go back to bed stiles"
"Stiles don't go in there please stiles!" she said a bit more scared "stiles! please don't! dont! don't go in there stiles!" she said but I went in anyway.
There I was out in the field with nothing there but the nemiton. Then big lights turn on from all around me
"This is just a dream stiles. It's just a dream" I say to myself hoping I will wake up. "Just wake up stiles... wake up stiles... WAKE UP!" I say hitting my head
Then I open my eyes. Laying down in bed looking up into the bright light that's coming into my bedroom
"Hey get your butt up and get ready for school" my dad said from the hall way of my door

"And you couldn't wake up?" Maddy asked
"Nope it was beyond terrifying"
"Have you ever heard of sleep paralysis?" I ask Scott and Maddy who looks extra cute today. I've kinda had a thing for her since the 3rd grade and no one knows but Scott.
"Uh no do I want to?" Maddy said
"Well Have you ever had a dream where your about to wake up but you can't move or talk?"
"Yea yea I've had that"
"It happens because during random sleep your body's paralyzed. It's called muscle Laconia. That way if you start dreaming about running, you don't actually start running in your bed." I said as we walk towards the stairs outside.
"That makes sense" Scott said
"Sometimes your mind can wake up before your body does so for a split second your actually aware that your body's paralyzed."
"And that's the terrifying part?" Scott asked
"It turns your dream into a nightmare. You can feel like your falling, your being strangled, or in my case, at the center of a grove of a magical tree where human sacrifices took place"
