Constanza shifted nervously around her apartment. She had been waiting for her boyfriend to get here for a few hours now and had very little patience left.

Ignazio had arrived in Sicily a week ago and spent Christmas at his family's house in Marsala. For a few years now, it was how they always spent the holidays: Christmas with their respective parents and New Year's Eve together.

He promised to come see her today, after visiting his grandparents, and she couldn't wait to see him again. Unsurprisingly he was a few hours late, like always, but she couldn't blame him on this instance.

After the tour had ended, back in October, the members of Il Volo had returned home for a short week before heading to Bologna where they had started rehearsals for the upcoming album. Constanza had missed Ignazio more than she could tell but thankfully, now that the year was almost over, they had managed to scrap a longer and well deserved holiday.

In order to pass time, Constanza had began arranging her already spotless living room. It was a way for her to shake off the gloom-ridden feeling growing in her gut.

The news she had received a week ago had changed everything and she had yet to share it with Ignazio. Of course she had decided to wait for the appropriate time to break it to him –when he'd be calm and rested– but it made her overthink even more and apprehend the way he would take it.

Just as she was brushing away these thoughts, she heard a key unlocking the front the door which then opened wide. Constanza's heart leaped and Ignazio dropped his bag just in time to catch her in his arms.

"Stanzi!" he exclaimed grinning widely as he spun her around, loving the way her laugh resonated around the apartment.

"I missed you so much," she said as her arms hung lovingly around his neck.

"I missed you more," he smiled finally putting her down.

They kissed for a long time as his hands found the familiar curve of her waist and her fingers tangled in his hair. It was enough to make Constanza forget all about her anxiousness, but it came surging back as soon as they finally pulled away from each other.

"Something wrong?" Ignazio asked, quickly noticing her prolonged silence.

Constanza's thoughts seemed to tumble clumsily in her head and she contemplated telling him right there and then what was on her mind. Before she had to time to truly consider that option, a forced smile etched on her face.

"I'm just so happy you're here!" she blurted, well aware that her voice had just taken a higher pitch.

"Well me too," he trailed off as a scheming smile formed on his lips "We can make up for lost times you know..."

He pulled her back against his chest the second those words left his mouth and Constanza couldn't help but chuckle at her boyfriend's antics.

"Interesting..." she whispered in his ear "What do you have in mind?"

Before she knew it, they went back to kissing, again and again, all the while making their way to the bedroom.

Tomorrow, she thought, I'll tell him tomorrow...

"Marzia, get the Crostini out of the oven!"

"Okay mamma, I'm on it!"

Marzia groaned into a pillow and wobbled out of her bed. She hurried down the stairs to the kitchen, almost knocking down her brother in the process.
