Chapter Two
Brett's POV
The bell rings and in my head I yell, "YES, math is finally over for the day and I learned absolutely nothing."
"Hey, Amanda," I shout down the hallway. She freezes and turns around like I was never going to notice she existed. She stares at me until I catch up with her.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to work on math homework together."
She keeps starring.
Amanda's POV
Someone pinch me; I have to be dreaming. Brett is talking to me. OMG Brett is talking to ME.
"Um, Amanda..." Brett murmurs.
"Oh sorry, um yeah I'd--."
"There you are Brett, I've been looking all over for you." Monica Williams interrupts. She has to be the meanest person in school. And she's dating Brett. Her honey blond hair is gathered in a messy ponytail and it sways back and forth as she approaches, and despite her hair color she is anything but sweet. Oh and did I mention she is this years cheerleading captain.
"Oh hey--." The rest of what he was about to say is cut off as she kisses him. Guess she really loves interrupting people. She draws away but remains in his arms.
"Bitch." She mouths over his shoulder. Wow, she must be telepathic because that's exactly what I was thinking.
"Let's go do homework together." Monica says.
"Why do homework when I've got you." Brett drawls sexily.
I watch them leave, their hands in each other's back pockets, and think, "Well that was a fantastic first conversation. Brett now knows you're smart enough to apologize and say yeah."
