Dan yawned, turning over in his dark sheets and pressing his hands to his face. It was a Monday. Letting out a groan, he slowly rolled out of his bed and tumbled onto the floor to then see a familiar face peeking out from under his bed. Jolting up in a moment of fear, he heard a giggle and watched as his best friend, Phil, wriggled out from under the bed and said a cheerful 'Good Morning' to Dan, who replied with a grunt but now already feeling better due to the warm voice of his room mate. Dan shooed Phil out of the room so he could quickly get changed, brushing out then straightening his dark brown hair, not bothering to have a wash since he was probably going to watch anime all day. He put on his casual dark clothing then opened the door to then realise Phil was stood there with a bowl of cereal and coffee, he grinned cheekily at Dan then gestured for him to go into the living room. They ate their breakfast in silent before Phil spoke up "So how was your sleep, Dan?" He looked up from his bowl and gulped down his bite of cereal "It was okay I guess, but wouldn't you know?" He smirked, raising a brow. Phil's face grew red but then he laughed it off to then reply "I only wanted to say good morning, I wasn't there for that long!" Phil then glanced down at his phone, which was converting pictures of Dan sleeping onto his MacBook. When Phil had cleaned the dishes while Dan closed the cupboards Phil left open, an idea suddenly sparked in the brown haired boys head. "Hey Philly, why don't we go to the park today?" He felt nervous about actually going outside, and he could tell Phil felt awkward too, but he agreed anyway and then the both of them prepared for the unusual outing.
Phil's POV
After Dan has proposed we should go to the park, I felt excited for some strange reason, the feeling I always get when going out with Dan. I put on a red checkered shirt and black jeans, along with some vans. Since I was ready before Dan, I decided to pack a lunch for the both of us, including a small house plant which seemed like he needed a walk. When Dan came into the room I noticed how cute he looked at this moment and wanted to take a picture but decided not to and managed to drag my hand away from my phone. "You ready?" I asked grabbing the basket which he looked at greedily, I scowled him and he smirked and replied with a simple 'yes' then we set off into the great outdoors.Dan's POV
The moment I walked down the stairs, I had looked at Phil in awe, wondering how he was so perfect, and how I would love to caress his cheek, or hold him tight on a cold winters night and cuddle him while watching movies. I snapped out of the daze, and my eyes travelled to the basket Phil had, he asked me if we were ready to go and I nodded, hoping for it to be the perfect 'date' for the perfect guy that lit up my dark soul. The wind was harsh and cold but the sun still shone down and there wasn't a cloud in sight, for now. Dan slowly waddled behind Phil and watched as he swung the basket back and forth, making him feel uneasy on how the food would be when they got there. Phil glanced behind him and saw Dan staring so held the basket at a tighter grip and smiled "Come on Dan, catch up, the weather won't always be this nice!" Dan looked up at the sun, wincing and looking away immediately then muttering "And this is why I stay inside." Dan then noticed Phil was walking by his side and nudging him "Come on we don't always get a day like this, let's make the most of it!" He put his free arm around Dan, who then nodded confidently "At least we have 4G!" The both of them fist pumped the air then looked away awkwardly as an old couple walked past probably wondering what two pale young men were doing going to the park which was now coming into view. The great sycamore trees danced in the wind, leaves gently falling down in twirling patterns onto the pavement, as they walked over the leaves, crunching sounds crackled in the air setting an autumn atmosphere. Due to it being a
Monday, most people were at school or work so fortunately they could have some time to themselves. Phil set the basket down on the table and they sat either side of the bench and begun their picnic.Dan's POV
We both finished our slices of cherry pie which Elma, the neighbour had made and packed away anything we couldn't recycle. I reached for the handle of the basket and felt fingers brush against mine, immediately blushing and letting Phil take the basket, he briskly turned away and then coughed. "Alright let's go then!" I nodded and looked down at Phil's hands, oh how I wanted to hold them. We opened the gate and set off home, noticing the streets were getting busy again because kids were coming home from school. I pulled up my hood, feeling the cold wind nip at my ears, feeling sorry for Phil since he hadn't really been prepared, I decided to walk closer to him to build up bodily heat, although it was still slightly awkward. Once we got in I asked "How about we order a pizza tonight and watch a movie?" Phil gave me his usual adorable smile and nodded "That sounds nice! Ooh can we wear our onesies too?" I partially agreed because the onesies were comfortable, but more so I could see Phil looking as cute as ever. I dashed into my room to change and then went back into the kitchen to then ring up the pizza company, but I wanted Phil there to order with me. Putting the phone down for a second I set off around the apartment calling his name "Philly?!" I opened his door to see him half naked, still getting into his onesie. A blush spread across my cheeks like a forest fire and I slammed the door, I'd seen him like this before, why did it feel so wrong now? I heard a muffled voice from behind the door and listened in "I'll be out in a minute, get what you want, don't worry I'll like it!"Phil's POV
After the sudden outburst of Dan bursting into my room, I felt slightly , so I took out my phone and went to the folder labelled 'Dan' which had now over 9000 pictures in it, thank god I had a lot of space on my phone. I sat on the bed, flicking through the most recent pictures I took of Dan sleeping, then back to the ones from earlier in our years of sharing an apartment. These past few years had been the best years of my life, all I needed to complete it was Dan. I snapped out of my daydream when the doorbell rung, pondering on how long I must of sat there for a pizza to arrive in the same amount of time I was thinking about Dan. I opened my door, and heard voices wafting down the hallway, as well as the smell of pizza. After I heard the door close I snook down the hallway, a large duvet travelling after me, I had also grabbed four pillows and was clutching onto them desperately. I looked up as Dan walked in holding a box for pizza and a large bottle of pop. "Thanks for helping me." He looked genuinely upset for a second, then I set a smirk come upon his face, and I giggled as his dimple deepened, how cute... As Dan set down the pizza box and pop, he left the room to get two cups while I opened the box of pizza, then used all my strength to attempt to open the lid on the pop, and to no surprise, failed. I heard cups being placed on the table then felt a pair of long noodle like arms wrap around me and slowly unscrew the lid, my head tilted to the side and I came face to face with Dan, we both glanced away, laughing awkwardly and Dan slid beside me on the sofa and we turned on the television, trying to ignore the previous events of the day.The Tv blared in the background, and an empty pizza box sat with the company of two cups. Two tall figures lay slumped upon each other on the sofa, asleep. This was the most active they've been in months, so of course they were weary. Dan was the first to wake up, glancing around wondering where he was before noticing Phil beside him, laying peacefully. He attempted to slide away without awakening Phil, but he tightened his arms around Dan's leg as he tried to escape the cuteness. After a while of trying to break free, Dan wriggled his leg out of the grip and began to clean up last nights mess. Dan turned his head mid-clean to see Phil roll over and cuddle tightly with the blanket and slowly took out his phone and creeping over to the sofa. He looked away for a second and whispered to himself "No, this is wrong!" He gripped his phone and looked back down at Phil. "Okay maybe one." Dan clicked on the camera option and snapped a picture of Phil, stroking the small pixelated face, then turning off his phone again to continue cleaning. Once he had finished he noticed Phil was beginning to awaken and Dan dashed into the kitchen to make a coffee, and quickly returning with the coffee mug. Phil looked up with sleepy smile on his face and yawned, stretching out his arms to grab the coffee mug "Thanks Dan." Dan nodded, chuckling "No problem, I know how you like your morning coffee." The apartment fell silent once again and you could hear the faint buzzing of the Tv, while rain began to patter down on the windows creating a harmonious sound. Well it is Britain.
