Chapter 16

Raven Pov

My eyes where getting heavy and we where reaching the motel in a couple hours. Its 8pm now and I need sleep. Leo is still sleeping. Should I wake him? Well I am tired and this isn't a state I should drive. I was about to shake him to wake him but his phone dinged. Now I have too wake him. I start to shake him awake being cautions this time. He gasps and sits up quickly. Jeez what with this boy? " Hey your phone ringed can you check if its Diaz?'' I really want to switch places now.

He sighs and checks it. "Five more minutes til our next stop then after that two more hours,'' I groan and sigh oh god I'm so tired. " What the matter? You've been driving for what two hours,"

"Eight hours,'' I said getting annoyed, " Eight hours and I still need to ask you questions,''

"Wait really,'' he asked all shocked. I just nodded getting real annoyed, '' I'm so sorry ask away."

"Okay does everyone hate Angelos?''

"Yes,''

"Great,'' I said sarcasm lacing my voice. " That wont impact the twins the all,''

"I wonder what there doing right now,'' he said,'' The twins I mean,''

That took me by surprised that he even cared. We where nearing what looked liked the stop.

Diaz Pov

" We have to give her the letter to read herself,'' I said. It was obvious that she has to read it. It must say what she is and everything but we still need to let Raven read it. I have morals and I will stand by them.

" Are you so sure about that," I heard Emma speak up.

"Of course," Simon said, " she is still our sister. We still respect her enough to give her the closure she needs,"

"What if she doesn't tell us?," Emma exclaimed,"What so we do then? She can kill us Simon aren't you aware of that?,"

"How dare you?" This is the first time I heard Simon raise his voice at her. "She drove for hours to make sure we where safe. She has almost died gladly for us. She could have left us and drove away. But she hasn't because she loves us. She wants us safe she would never kill us without doing it to herself after. And here you are treating her like a monster we would hunt and kill. Give me this." He reached up and yanked the book out of her hands. He took the letters out as well. " We will read this together at the hotel because we will get our own rooms,'' It was clear as day that he meant it was an order and not a suggestion.

She weakly nodded and stayed silent. Out of the corner of my eyes I could see him open the book and cleared his throat out loud ,'' Dear 10/13/00 Today was the day my baby girl was born. I decided to call her Raven after the teen titans character. I'm am very aware of how nerdy that is,''

Silence filled the air like a think toxic gas trying to make one speak. I finally gave in, " She wasn't all ways a hunter,'' Is the only thing I could say.

Simon breathed in sharply and flipped the pages until he found a pages and slowed down scanning the sloppy writing carefully. " 4/15/16 I all most killed all of my kid today. I drove off a bridge and Raven saved us. I can clearly remember how her eyes look so... inhuman and the light that her hands and eyes gave off. As soon as we where on the bridge she jumped out and ran into the a random directions. I told the twins to stay and I ran after her. I found her facing the demon. It called her a 'guardian' I don't know what that is. I just know that she protects us a lot so I guess it makes sense," dear god so she isn't human.

" She isn't human,'' I said, " She is inhuman and she doesn't even know,'' I cant even began to imagine whats that like.  We will be in the hotel in three hours. Then she should take the journal and read for herself.

" Why didn't mom tell us,'' I heard a tiny voice say from the back seat.

"I don't know,'' Simon said a whisper.

"look for the drink,'' I said, " Maybe that might be a clue," The exit for the next rest stop. " This is something you need to read with her. Put it back in you bag and tomorrow when we get there and your settled in you can read it with her.''

There mutter of agreement barely was audible but I heard Simon put the journal back.
