Who would've known I would be where I am today? If someone would've told me that my life would be this way I would've told them they were lying but life doesn't go that way. Being a teenaged girl in high school and having the responsibilities of an adult is hectic but it's something I had to do for my siblings and I... This is where my life began...
"Why you never go out with us, you always stuck in the house!" Said Janiyah while going through my closet. "You know I can't go nowhere Jay I have my sisters and brothers to see about and plus I have to get them ready for school in the mornings as well as myself!" I said while grabbing my covers to make up my bed. "Ain't that what your mama for, where she at anyway?" Janiyah asked. "Yeah it is but she's not here so it's my responsibility to make sure they have what they need." I said. "I guess you the only girl I know that don't go nowhere or do nothing but stay in the house, don't you get tired of doing the same thang?" asked Janiyah with a dirty look on her face. "No I don't unlike yourself it's a must you go somewhere everyday, let's get ready to head to the bus stop before we miss the bus because I can't afford to miss school." I said while grabbing my book bag and approaching to walk out the door.
Janiyah was one of those friends that speak what's on her mind in her own ghetto way, I sometimes don't pay her any attention because I don't think she's in her right state of mind at times anyway, before I get on the bus I put my sisters and brothers on the bus and make sure they have somewhere to sit I rather stand up and let them sit down because I know their still sleepy.
"Ohhh there go dat crack baby Jalissa, where ya mama at today somewhere suckin' on a pipe?" Michelle asked while everyone else laughed. "You betta shut up where yo' football team somewhere ready to touchdown in yo ass?!" Janiyah said while standing up in Michelle's face. "Sit down!" yelled Mrs. Cross which is bus driver. "It's okay Janiayh I look over people like that not too much knowledge going on in her small brain anyway." I said while looking out the window as we drove up in front of the school. "I got your back Ian gon' let nobody mess with you or your brothers and sisters." Janiyah said while walking behind Michelle.
before I get off the bus I have to kiss my brothers and sisters and tell them to have a good day at school and to keep up the good work and I love them, their school is like 3 or 4 miles away from mine so I miss them throughout the day. As I walk off the bus my friend boy greets me at the bus and offers to walk me to class he's not my type but he's a nice boy.
"Good morning Jalissa, how's your morning?" asked Devon "Good morning Devon and it's going good how's your morning going?" I asked while smiling "It's good now that I see you, you make my day everyday." Devon said "Whatever Devon, do you use that line on every girl you offer to walk to class?" I asked while blushing. "No, actually you're the only girl I walk to class and meet every morning, so what other girls are you talking about?" Devon asked while trying to hold my hand. "I guess I got you mixed up then huh, Devon you're the only dude I know that'll..." I said as I paused what I was about to say. "The only dude you know that'll what... make you happy, brighten your day, make you smile.. what is it?" Devon asked. "You do all of those things but I'm not looking for a boyfriend at the moment Devon, I'm trying to focus on school and getting into college." I said while walking to my locker. "Who said something about boyfriend, you told on yourself." Devon said as we both laughed.
Even though I was kind of feeling Devon I had to focus on finishing school and focusing on taking care of my sisters and brothers before worrying about other things such a relationship.
"How are your sisters and brothers doing?" Devon asked while taking my books out of my locker for me. "Their fine, thanks for asking, well I have to go to class before the bell rings I'll see you later." I said while walking to class. "I'll walk you there I don't want you to walk by yourself." Devon said "No thank you, I got it Devon thanks again." I said while walking away. "All students take your seats and take out your books, I hope you all have your assignments from last week's homework." said Mrs. Walker "I see you here crack baby I bet you ain't seen ya mama yet have ya?" Michelle asked while sitting behind me. "Michelle please leave me alone I have no time for your insults, no I haven't seen my mother but do you have to pick at someone who doesn't have both parents like you do?" I asked while getting my homework out of my book bag. "I...whateva girl I'm gon' leave you alone before you start crying." Michelle said while rolling her eyes.
