I was thirteen years old when I was first exposed to The Light. The Light was a research project founded on the idea that even the most messed up of people could become perfect and angelic with some help. I was one of the "Impurities" that were selected for testing. That category that I fell into wasn't vast, no. It was a small and vacant group of people who were born without a talent.

Fantistics were all who were born with a special little something that gave them the ability to do something that was different. You were considered one of these lucky people until the age of twelve. Science had proven that if you hadn't shown signs of a talent, or as science calls it- A Finality- you were to be taken away into a sectioned off part of the world, designed only for those with impurities.

My whole family consisted of Fantistics, each one had a Finality greater than no other. Because of this, I became more of a disappointment than that of before. My family was high-classed in the world for it had never had an Impurity branch off on its gigantic family tree. I was the first to have done so. Due to their wealth and reputation, I was allowed another year, as one of my descendants had been a latecomer to his Finality and his was the best of all.

My parents chinned up to this news, and began expecting great things to come from me as came from my Uncle. We waited. For twelve harsh months we waited, until that dreaded day came. It was January 27th and the snow was blazing down. I was freezing cold and I felt horrible. I knew what was coming. I had heard all about it from my teachers and headmasters at school. I thought of all the possibilities I could get sectioned into.

Impurities were valued highly as they couldn't defy their masters in any way possible. Many of them were sold to the highest bidder at auctions and sentenced to slavery for the rest of their lives. Others were used as torture devices for the rich. Many wealthy families paid to use an Impurity for lessons in slave training for their children. They always used the youngest and freshest for that job. The possibilities were endless. But I didn't think of the worst until the train marked with my job pulled up. It was that of what I had never imagined.

In front of me was a long and slick white train that was embroidered with teal and navy blue. I shied away from it as I had realized that the safety of my family had left my side and I had been left to my fate. I heard whips snap from behind me and I thought that possibly, but very unlikely, that my fate could've been wrong. That the train was meant for someone else and I was going to be sold into slavery. Slavery and enduring the lashings and beatings I would get was far more painless than what reality had in store for me.

I hurriedly looked behind me and as I did, a long leather whip came down, bringing stale air with it. My back screamed out and forced my body forward as the device slammed into my pale and meaty flesh. I fell into the train floor and the doors provided a safe barrier between me and the thin wisps of torture. My breath fell into the area surrounding me hard, and the air showed it. Every hint of carbon Dioxide leaving my mouth was shown in clear blue vapor.

My lids fell heavy and my body sank more towards the ground. I found sleep very nice at the moment and it soon pulled me under before my brain could realize the trick that was being played on me.

My fate is hanging on a thread

Playing tricks inside my head

Confusing me to go to bed

"Go inside." She said, She said.

New places can be exciting, right? Especially if you can remember where you're going. But when you take a long nap- if you're forced to or not- just to pass the time, you might forget a few things; or if you're lucky, you might just happen to forget it all.
