I didn't know what to expect from this order. Who still ordered copper these days. Like, sure it was still used for pennies and such, but it was a weird order. I picked up my good old buddy, Mr pick axe and started down the small cavern. After WW3 most cities were destroyed and almost the entire world had to start from scratch. It was pretty bad. I worked with a group of scavengers that search wreckage and find more materials. Since I was the youngest, I didn't get as many jobs, but I did get the jobs that required a small physic.
So down the rabbit whole I go, where I'll end up, no one knows! As I descend deeper into the cavern I see gems that shimmer and shine in my dimly lit flashlight. They are not my objective. Though, they are pretty. Maybe I could come back later and retrieve some of them for jewelry or something. I soon reach the end of that I have left off on. Shining the light over the wall, I notice a weird shine back. It lit up a shiny brown with dull greenish-blue. Was this copper? I rose my pick axe up above my head and brought it crashing down upon the glimmering stone with the force that caused it to crack away form it's rocky prison. I put the pieces into my messenger bag and went on my way back into town.
Shira was there to meet me. I handed the bag to her and she walked over to a man with a big greying beard. He smiled and thanked her for all of her hard work. Sure, nobody ever takes note of the boy with the brass goggles who works in the caves to get the ore. But whatever.
