Forests, wierd creatures, and witches!

The forest was dark and unforgiving. Within these horrific trees, lies monsters of many fears. The people in the town near by call it the dead forest, for the people that enter, never return. And if they do... they are found dead near the edge of the trees.
It fucking sucks.
But what can we do.....

I awoke at my 'normal' time of 3:30 am to the sounds of the forest callings. Forever, they have been calling. But I'm forbidden to go into the so called 'deadly' forest. The stupid stories told are just to warn us of the fact that people get lost. I've told my parents about the forest callings, but they pushed it aside and told me to never go in it. But now that they're gone... should I really stay away?
Maybe...
I sit in the silence of my darkened room in thought. What if I was suppose to go into the forest. The elders always go on and on about 'fate' and 'destiny'.
I pause for a moment.
I arose from my bed and wander into my closet. I grabbed my messenger bag and proceeded to put bandages, lighters, and other things I might need. I then went to change into jeans, hoodie, converse. After, I crawl under my bed and pulled out my opal sword my crazy ass grandfather gave to me one Christmas. I strapped it on my back And off I go into the 'evil' forest.

As I walk through the darken forest with my phone flashlight, I start to think of that riddle an old friend told me. 'How far into the forest can you go before you start coming out?' Me being the stupid one said all the way. But it was halfway. I wonder how far halfway through this forest is?
There is a small squeak that hits the quiet air and I look down. A creature with big silver eyes and a small black nose the size of a kitten stands with rabbit like ears and fox like tail pointing skyward. It's silver and gold bird like wings folded against its furry back seem to glow in the darkness of the woodsy land around us. It tilted its head at me as I tilted mine back. We both seemed to be equally confused of the others appearance.
"Human?" It squeaked questioningly at me with a high pitched voice.
I looked at it with weary eyes and said yes.
It looked at me with squinted eyes and sniffed at me.
"Is your name Alkamai? Alkamai Ferison?"
I turned my head to the side," That was my great grandmother's name. I'm Alex Kandarus."
The... thing looked up at me with big eyes and proceeded to jump a bit.
" You are a relative! Yes? You must be!"
I nodded hesitantly.
It seemed to squeal and flew upon a branch just above my head," Then there is still hope! Please, follow me Kanderus! Yes! Yes!"
It started to hop and glide from branch to branch and occasionally look back at me as I walk slowly behind it. We soon approach a large oak tree with what appears to be crystals dangling from its great branches. There was an enormously tall creature with amethyst scales on an alligator like body and snake like head. It seemed to have two short arms and two large feet. It also had two large bat like wings that appeared lilac protruding out of its back. There was another creature of the same physic but instead of amethyst and lilac, it was rose quart and peach. They seemed to be guarding the base of the tree. Between the two, was an enormous hole in the trunk with an eerie glow illuminating the edges.
"I have returned Glassay and forester." The kit-bun-fox thing said. I still don't know its name.
They both turns and looks at us with a shocked look.
"That was quick? Are you sure this time?" The purple one said looking at me.
I shifted slightly under their gaze. The rabbit creature looked up at me with a slight grin." They say they are related to Alkamai. Apparently the princess is dead. This is her descendent Alex Kendarus."
I'm royalty? But all my family is dead. My great grandparents died of old age, my grandfather from a self induced coma after my grandmother died of pneumonia, and my parents in a car crash. My dads side, his grandparents died of old age and his father died when he was young. His mom died in the crash with them. If I truly am royalty, I may have a home again without worrying how I'm going to pay for the house after my parents money run out. But I should get my hopes up so high. That leaves room for disappointment.
"Kendarus?" I look down at the bun." Will you fallow me please."
I nodded and walked with it into the enormous hole in the tree. It was a lot bigger inside. The inside kinda looks like the inside of the great deku tree from that game I use to play when I was younger. We walked up a side ramp and walked almost to the top of the tree. We passed many doors. We finally stopped in front of two grand doors. The bun pushed on it and it began to slowly open.
" King Krandema! I have returned with the descendent of Alkamie Ferison." It stood straight on its back legs with its paws at its side. Almost like a solder.
"Narvrak. Well done. Bring them here, and fetch Kodesta."
The bun, Narvrak nodded and turned and left. The King was a tall, surprisingly, man with silver hair and a matching beard. He was muscular and very tan. I suddenly felt kinda insecure about my pale white skin.
"Alex, is it?" I nod and he continues." Come closer child, I have a story to tell you."
I wander to the large man and felt very small in comparison. He put a large hand on my small-ish shoulder and smiled at me. I returned it meekly.
"Your great grandmother left this palace in search of a new life amongst the humans. With her, was her mate. A simple alchemist who worked for the kingdom. When they left. We haven't heard from then sense the day they left. After many years, our kingdom has been cursed. The person who cursed us was a witch with great power. Surprisingly more  power than mine. She said that she will stop cursing our people once her son is married into royalty. You see, Alkamai was an only child. So after she left, I was left to rule this whole time. My beloved queen died during Alkamai's birth, so it was impossible for us to produce a new child. And if we did, it would be far too young. So we sent soldiers like Narvrak out to look for Alkamai, or a descendent of hers. And here you stand. Hopefully you will agree to marry Kodesta to save our kingdom."
I stood dumbfound at the information just provided to me.  I have to marry someone to save an entire kingdoms. But he is giving me an option right?
"What would happen if I said no?"
He looked at me darkly."Then we would have to put you in the dungeon until you agree. I will not have a mere mortal stand in the way of saving my kingdom." Shit.
I looked up at him with weary eyes and held my breath. Before I said anything, the door opened again, revealing Narvrak and a man. He had scruffy blonde-ish hair that sweeps over his forehead almost into his eyes,  deep, forest green eyes. He was taller then me by what looks to be by an inch or so. He wore an oversized navy blue, longed sleeved shirt and black jeans. He also had, converse on? He met my eyes and smiled. I suddenly felt really sick. Like I was going to throw up and die.
"Why hello. You must be Alex." His voice was deeper than mine and had some kind of amusement behind it.
I nodded. "Yes, and I presume you are Kodesta." His name felt weird on my tongue. I bet you can't even pronounce it, can you.
"Indeed. Are you the one to marry me?"
I looked  back at the king and then back at him." Yeah. I'll marry you. If your mom holds up her side of the deal."
He smiled back at me and nodded. He stepped closer to me and made me feel slightly nervous. "Of  course she will. And you will be my perfect king Alexander."
