"Lia! Snap out of it! I told you, this is trash."
Now the music room is haunted by the ghosts of long-dead cookies. Lia reached up to brush the crumbs from the piano. Lucika slapped her away, exasperated.
"Look. A heart skips a beat. A child dies. The ugly, foolish, insignificant heroine has some crazy super-power. Characters don't bawl their eyes out, they shed a solitary, elegant tear. Lia, your story, it's old, it's just a blank piece of paper."
The piece of paper covered in scribbles is thrown out out the window, a paper aeroplane of words. Soft, she hands over the next piece of paper.
