Know what?! I’m supposed to do the first draft of a super major research paper, but since im procrastinating. Eto napala ko. Ang ganahang mag-update ng eighteenth rose :3 LOL.

I stretched out my arms pagkababa ko ng kotse. Phew! At last, matapos ang mahaba habang byahe from Laguna to Manila, nasa arrival area na rin kami ng NAIA.

I peeked at my wristwatch. 3:00 PM na, my dad’s supposed to be here 3:10. Ay naku. Buti na lang pala di natraffic.

Ayun, after minutes natanaw ko na si papa.

He waved at us at agad naman akong tumakbo palapit sa kanya..

“how’s my favorite princess?” he asked while hugging me tight.

I pouted “pa! I’m your only princess!”

He laughed “of course, I was only kidding baby. I missed you so much.”

“Pa, I miss you more.” Then I hugged him again.

Sobrang namiss ko talaga si papa, mechanical engineer siya sa France. Ewan ko nga kung bakit sa dinami rami ng pwede niyang mapagtrabahuhan as a mechanical engineer, ehh sa France pa siya napadpad.

I mean, ano bang meron dun di ‘ba?

“one month to go baby, are you excited?”

Natigilan ako, yeah I am excited for my debut pero, may kulang ehh.

“yes pa! super!” I partly lied. Kinakabahan ako. Darating kaya siya?

“so, who’s gonna be the lucky prince?”

“Ernest, you perfectly know who..” sabad ni mama.

Kumalas naman sa pagkakayakap sa’kin si papa tapos lumapit siya kay mama.

“constance! I missed you bestfriend..”

Oops! Oo nga pala, I haven’t told you this pero. My parents aren’t really together.

They’re just bestfriends, I mean literally—JUST BESTFRIENDS.

Pano ko nabuo?

Well, that’s a long story but to make it short. Nalasing sila parehas nang bonggang bongga and then boom! I was born.

Noong una, binalak ni papa na yayain pakasal si mama, they tried to be together noong ipinagbubuntis pa lang ako. Pero noong ipanganak ako imbes na tuluyan sila ma-inlove sa isa’t isa.. mas lalong narealize nila na kahit anong pilit nila na mag-work out as a couple hanggang magbestfriends lang talaga sila.

Bata pa lang ako, alam ko na yung reality na yun. I even tried my very best para i-match make sila nun, nung isa, kinontsaba ko pa yung mga maid para ikulong sila sa isang kwarto kasi gusto ko magkaroon ng kapatid, pero olats ang lola nyo.

Kinausap naman ako ng masinsinan nila mama at papa.

“baby, I swear, me and your mom tried to work things out. But there’s just things na talagang hindi meant to be. Like me and your mom, yes we have been best of friends since time immemorial and it could’ve been an easy foundation for a romantic relationship.. but princess, this is reality, not all friends turn into lovers.
