Pain

Pain.

You don't truly ever "know" pain.

It's one of those things,

Where you don't know why you're feeling like this.

Why you want to sit,

And cry.

Why you want to scream and yell,

At everyone who doesn't get it.

You don't truly feel pain.

Not until a boy tells you,

That you aren't pretty enough to be his girlfriend.

Not until the girls who sit behind you in math class,

Snicker and whisper evil things about you,

That they know you can hear.

You don't know pain.

Until you have to tell someone,

Goodbye.

Until you can't hold in,

All those god damned secrets any longer.

You don't feel pain.

Until you hurt so badly on the inside,

That you feel the need,

To drag a razor against your skin,

Because you don't see any other way out.

Pain is just one of those things.

You can try,

Try so hard,

To block it out.

But you can't block out everything.

You can't be strong forever.

And that is what pain is.
