It was later in the day, the sun was beginning to fall. Freddie prepared himself for bed by slipping into his favorite cozy pajama bottoms and turning off all of the house lights. He normally didn't prepare for bed this early, due to him usually being in the studio practicing or being entertained by his children in he comfort of their home. But sadly, neither of those options were practical at the moment.

As Freddie moved to flick off the final light in the living room, the doorbell rang. Freddie walked towards the door, not knowing exactly who it was. He slowly approached the door and twisted its knob. Behind the door revealed his newest friend, John. He was holding a bag that emitted a delectable smell.

"John? What are you doing here?" Freddie asked puzzled. John grinned and entered the house.

"I said I was coming back, didn't I?" He responded. He placed the bag on the dining table and smiled at Freddie.

"Yes but you took so long, I honestly thought you went straight home." Freddie pouted.

"No I had a huge test to take, then I had to do extra hours at work—lots of things like that." John frowned. He entered the kitchen and began snooping around. He washed his hands and grabbed two plates from Freddie's cabinet.

"Your life sounds exciting." Freddie whispered and strolled behind him. John shrugged at his statement.

"I guess you could say that." His life was just like every other person. Simple and boring.

"So why'd you bring food?" Freddie asked.

John walked to the table with plates and distributed the food amongst the two of them. After he was finished, he sat at the table and motioned Freddie to sit beside him. Freddie sat next to him and was greeted with a plate of food.

"Well it's because I'm hungry and you're lonely. We can keep each other company."

"Is this some sort of surprised date?" Freddie joked as he began eating. John, who was already stuffing his mouth, quickly swallowed his food.

"It wasn't my intention but... totally! This is our first date." John laughed and began eating again. Freddie knew he was fooling around, but he wanted to believe it was true. Dating John would be a dream come true.

"I heard you were in a band." John stated.

"That's correct, I'm the lead singer. My other two friends, Roger and Brian, play the drums and guitar. And we also have a bass player who normally gets replaced after week or two. We never seem to connect with our bass players." Freddie rambled. He was hoping John wouldn't find out about his band's rising popularity. It's hard to find true friends when you have fame.

"I play bass guitar. Not in a band but for fun." John gasped.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, I'm pretty decent at it. Well, I think so." John finished his plate of food and waited for Freddie to finish.

"You should tryout, there's a chance that you might possibly join the band." Freddie suggested.

"If it means spending more time with you, I'll certainly think about it."

Freddie felt flattered by his words, and he continued eating. When he was finished, John grabbed the plates and went towards the sink to wash them.

"John you don't have to wash the dishes, I could have done that."

"It's fine, I like helping out."

Freddie thought John was too pure. He was too caring and kind for this world.
