Louis was always the type to sit in the front of the class. He loved being able to see the board, and interact with the teacher more. He had a specific routine that he did every single day, by lining up all of his pencils, stacking his books, and storing his lunch underneath his desk.
That's why it destroyed him when his English teacher, Mr. Nelson asked him to sit in the back of the classroom.
"It would just make sense Louis. Please?" Mr.Nelson asked, while stacking some brand new supplies into his supply closet.
Louis sighed, and stood from where he sat on the air vent. The outside of the school was lonely, and abandoned. It was raining, and the clouds covered the sky.
"I guess. I mean if it'll help you teach her better then I'd be willing to switch seats to the back." He looked back at Mr.Nelson, who was now tidying up his desk.
"Oh thank you Louis! I knew that you would understand. Now, where did I put that calculator?"
...
"That's my seat, nerd." Louis looked up to see a girl with wild aqua blue hair standing in front of "his" desk. Her nose was pierced, and she was wearing a 'Panic! At The Disco' shirt. But the thing that stood out to Louis the most besides her piercings, coloured hair, and chunky combat boots was her jeans. Her beautiful black, ripped skinny jeans. There were rips in the knees, and a few tiny slits on one upper thigh.
"Hey geek," she snapped again, this time getting annoyed. "This is my seat, move."
"Actually Andi, this is your seat." Mr.Nelson said from the front of the room, gesturing towards Louis's now empty seat.
A look of disbelief crossed Andi's face. "No way," she sassed. "I refuse to sit in the front of the room, with these... these freaks!I"
"Andi, here, now!" The teacher bellowed, and she sulked over to her seat, occasionally glancing over her shoulder to send Louis a "you'll pay for what you've done" look.
...
Louis was by his locker, stacking all of his books neatly and talking to his best friend's Liam and Harry about what happened in class, when someone came up to him and slammed his locker shut. Startled, both guys jumped a little bit before seeing a fuming Andi standing there.
"What was that all about?" She demanded, leaning up against Louis's locker.
"I-I didn't do a-anything," Louis stuttered, staring down at her ripped jeans.
"You stole my fricking seat. Now I have to sit in the front of the class, and I can't sit next to Emma!"
"It wasn't my choice," he said simply, fighting the urge to look down at her jeans.
Andi huffed, and pushed through both of the boys walking towards the doors. "I hate you!" she shouted, before walking out the double doors.
...
Andi sighed, and started up her old car. It was worn out, with papers and disposable coffee cups everywhere, while the whole thing smelled like pizza.
Her phone rang from the passenger's seat, and she turned down the Green Day song that was playing before answering the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey, where are you?" Emma's voice echoed from the other side of the phone.
"On my way to the mall, where else would I be?" Andi laughed, as she switched lanes.
"Well you could've told me. Want me to come?"
"I'm just getting some more jeans, nothing really exciting. I'll be in and out. Plus, you don't have a car."
"I could call an Uber or something," Emma sighed, and Andi could faintly hear the bell ring.
"Go to class, I'll pick you up after school. Bye!" she said, before pulling into the parking structure of the mall.
The moment she walked through the glass doors, she felt a sense of calmness, and happiness. The smell of pizza, and the fountain water wafted through the whole mall straight to her and she couldn't help but smile.
This is where she came almost everyday. She liked to walk around, and look at all of the kiosks. She liked to watch the people who came in. She liked to eat food from the food court. She just loved everything about the familarness of the mall.
After staring at the sign for a few seconds, she entered Nordstrom. This place had the best black skinny jeans ever. She liked how they fit, and how comfortable they were. Andi simply navigated through the mazes of clothes, and stopped at the rack of jeans. Looking around, she slipped a pair into her over sized purse, then walked back to the door.
She smiled, as she felt the adrenaline rush through her veins.
