Shikamaru x Reader

*So this is probably going to end up really long and probably 2 or 3 parts so beware. Also It might be a weird plot and not follow the main story. Also please excuse if I get things so wrong and I'm not even close to being correct. This will take place in Shippuuden*

(F/n) POV- 11 years ago

"ONII~CHAN! ONII~CHAN!" A young (F/n) chanted. She had just came back from her daily tests and was excited to see her "brother". They weren't really related.

"Hey! Enough of that! Keep it down, 758!"A guard yelled at the sweet child.

Kazuki and his little sister were experiments. Test subjects. Just numbers on a board. Rogue ninja from the Land of Fire and had started it all, wanting to be more powerful. They had taken children from all around the different villages and gathered them in an abandoned building in the middle of a forest somewhere. They were trying to find ways to make it where they could be more intelligent, stronger, superior in every way, just plain better than everyone else.

There was well over 50 children that were being experimented on. Each kidnapped from their homes, all under the age of 5. In the history books they called it The Testing.

(F/n) and Kazuki had it the worst. Everyday they were to be tested and poked with needle containing various substances. They were the prize subjects of the ninja, because they belonged to just the right bloodlines.

This went on for a years. Untill...

{Present}

(F/n) sat up in her bed, sweating. She dragged her hand and cleared her forehead to stop the beads of sweat from rolling into her eyes. She tilted her head up towards the ceiling and sighed.

"Thank god it was a dream..." She thought. Ever since that day she's had terrible dreams, haunting her sleep. It's been 11 years, but they wouldn't disappear.

(F/n) yawned and dropped back down onto her bed.

"Do I really have to get out of bed?" (F/n) said tiredly to herself. After lying there for a couple minutes she decide to get up. She got dressed into her everyday wear of a tank top covered by a baggy sweatshirt and some shorts.

After brushing her hair and keeping it down like she normally did, she walked out into her living room to find a surprise waiting for her.

"WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING. HERE!?!?!" She screamed through her teeth at the guy with gravity defying hair sitting on her couch.

"Calm down, you don't have to yell. I just thought that we could spend some time together on your birthday." He said. (F/n) had a confused look on her face.

"OH YEAH IT'S MY 15th BIRTHDAY!!" She thought with surprize.

"Kakashi, does this mean that I can finally start going on missions?" She asked.

{Flashback}

"(F/n), I'll be right back. You stay here. If anything happens I want you to run. Run as far away from this place as you can get. Don't let them catch you."

"Onii~Chan, what do you mean? What's going on? I'm scared. Don't leave me here." She cried.

"I'm getting your freedom, (F/n). I love you." Kazuki said as he walked off, ignoring his little sister's cries.

It wasn't too long before she realized that there were no guards around. Normally during this time of the day, one would be making his nightly rounds. Remembering her brother's words she decided to come out of hiding. But she hadn't been outside her cell before so she had a hard time finding anything.

After wandering aimlessly for awhile, she noted all the other cells were empty. She remembered seeing others in them from the little hole in her cell. Her pace quickened and soon her was running until she turned into a burning corridor. Moving past the flames, she saw a part of the building gone. Someone had destroyed it and left a huge hole leading to the outside.

(Y/n) had no memories from her life past from when she was brought to the facility. She ran out and into the forest that surrounded the building. She only stopped when she heard a loud noise. (Y/n) turned around to see her brother running out of the flaming building. Kazuki was smiling at his sister when the building exploded, killing him with countless others.

After hours of running through the forest, (Y/n) stumbled upon a large green gate with weird symbols on it, seeing as she had not learned to read yet. Skeptical at first, she stayed in the trees that lined the sides of a dirt path that lead to the gate. After half an hour without activity, she decided to approach the wall. She could see inside it was a street buzzing with people and buildings in every direction.

Her eyes started to blink slowly, the fatigue catching up with the little girl. Her body wasn't used to so much running and it had been awhile since she had food or slept. Her knees buckled and she fell to the ground. Before fully blacking out, she saw a man with gray, gravity defying hair running towards her.

(Y/n) woke up to an unfamiliar scene, she was in a room laying in a white bed. She turned her head and saw a window shining bright with the morning sun. Looking in the other direction she noticed two figures, one a old man with a strange robe on and the other the man, who had gray hair and a mask that covered his right eyes, he was the one she faintly saw before she blacked out.

Out of instinct, she leaped away, normally when someone was near her they always caused harm. The old man was first to speak.

"Relax. We mean no harm, we are here to help you." He said with a raspy voice. (Y/n) put on a confused look, she did not know what to do in a situation like this. No one had never wanted to help her before.

"Now, what is your name? I am Sarutobi Hiruzen, the current Hokage of the Hidden Leaf village." (Y/n) was even more confused, she did not know what any of the words he was said meant. But the way he said every word felt different from the words he had heard before. They had a new tone she had never heard. They had kindness she had only heard from her brother.

"My name...." She started. "My name is (Y/n)."

"(Y/n), do you know where you are?" The old one asked. (Y/n) shook her head. This time the other one spoke.

"(Y/n), you're in the Hidden Leaf village, in the Land of Fire." He said. She was still confused, Land of Fire? She thought. The man with the mask on saw her confusion and explained to her.

After a while she understood her situation, Lord Hokage had explained the Five Great Nations and the world to her. He also told her of the ninja that lived in the world, and how the five kage were the leaders of each nation. He told her about the village and the past Hokage.

He also informed (Y/n) about what happened to her, how she was kiddnaped. (Y/n) told them what the rogue ninja did to her and her brother, how they were experimented on. All the pain she went through and the memory of her brother brought her to tears and she quietly wept into her knees, sitting on the bed.

The next day, the Hokage put (Y/n) under Kakashi, as she learned that was his name. She asked why she couldn't be enrolled into the academy, since she was the age to. But she was given the response that it was because of her lack of knowledge. She didn't know how to learn or write so she was going to learn that first, also, they didn't know what clan she belonged to and what jutsu she could perform.

Lord Hokage decided she needed to be put under the radar until they could find out who she was, until then, Kakashi would train her to be a skilled Kunoichi.

*I apologize if this is crap, I really just wanted to make some sort of Naruto fanfic, and decided Shikamaru was the easiest!!! It will probably be awhile before part 2*
