The waves lapped against the sand, unfazed by the child who had landed softly on the ground. She folded her wings back, swishing her tail gently as she slowly walked towards the ocean. It was approaching evening, grey clouds coating the sky and lighting up in the sunset. Hues of blues and pinks like cotton candy danced on the horizon. While the gloomy sky kept everyone away from the water today, Faelynn sat at the edge of the waves. She pulled her knees in, taking in the simple beauty of the sky she had hardly seen before. A sound resonated in her left ear, a dripping sound. She looked up as a soft rain began to befall the shore. The rain and sea made a relaxing melody, while the cool evening air washed over her. The dancing colors across the horizon were brighter than she had ever imagined. The 12 year old sighed in contentment.
She could sit here all day.
