There was just one man left in the cafe now, and do you know what was odd? Him. Everything about him was odd. Weird, mysterious, even creepy- and that was alot coming from me. I waited.

"'scuse me sir, we're closing now. If you'd like to leave- soon as you've finished your coffee 'course." the lady informed him. She popped a bubble gum in her mouth. The man stayed silent. I waited.

The odd man gathered his odd things and placed an odd fiver on the counter. The bell rang as he opened the door with odd hands and hailed a taxi in an odd way. He sat with an odd thump and told the driver his odd destination.

Day turned to night and minutes turned to hours as the low rumble of the taxi carried on out of the city and into the thin roads of the more rural country. The man soon reached his destination and the taxi driver also gained an odd fiver. I waited.

An orchard was a typical choice foe one of his oddness, weirdness, mysteriousness- creepiness. His long coat trailed behind him as he gained on the entrance to the castle. A castle? I waited.

The large doors opened and closed behind him in the blink of an eye. His eye- eyes. They opened and closed as the door did, they revealed a deep abyss of black and white and red and grey and dark and light and good and bad and do you know what was odd? Him. His eyes- or his soul escaped and filled the castle with a low rumble and a loud screech. I waited.

Until it had escaped completely and the oddly foolish one was free of their vessel and long coat and purple-tie-that-looked-way-too-professional-and-expensive I stopped waiting. I pounced and I caught it and I sped off into the trees with the deep abyss of black and the rest held close. I stopped by at plum tree as I tried to contain the soul. There was a flash of light.

"- soon as you've finished your coffee 'course." I informed the customer. I popped the bubble gum in my mouth. The customer gathered his things soon after and then pushed the door open. The bell rang. He turned around to reveal a wrinkled face and pale grey eyes. He stared at me with a slight smirk and then blinked. His eyes turned black. I cant believe I didn't see that coming. I had failed and so it was time to wait.
