Hi everyone! Thank you for reading this. The song has nothing to do with the story, I just love it. Now you know, I love country songs.

Somewhere on the bedside table, Alana Pepple's phone rang. She rolled over, mumbled some incoherent words, and continued sleeping. The incessant ringing finally woke her up.

Temptation to ignore the call and return to sleep crossed her mind. But her job did not provide her such free will. Clients call her at any time if her services were needed. After all, that was what she signed up for when she became a fixer and private investigator. And why they paid her the big bucks.

With extended hands, she blindly searched the table for her phone until she found it. She looked at the phone with a squint. Why would her brother be calling her at that hour?

"Damon, what is it?" she asked with her eyes closed.

"Ally... You've got to help me, please. I didn't know who else to call." Damon sounded distraught.

"Calm down and tell me what happened," she said as she sat up and rubbed her eyes. The sleep long gone.

"It's not something I can say on the phone. Remember that cabin we used to go when we were kids? Please can you come there? Please Ally, I really messed up," Damon said.

Alana never knew her brother to be one to beg, so she knew something terrible must have happened. "Okay, I'm on my way. Stay calm." She hung up.

"Babe, who was that?" Justin, her husband asked groggily.

"It was Damon. He needs me," she said.

He nodded and went back to sleep.

Not bothering about her appearance, she grabbed the first blouse and jeans in her wardrobe and put them on. From the inside of her bedside drawer, she brought out her gun, checked if it was loaded and placed it in the holster. Her car keys, pager and black gloves were already on the drawer, so she didn't have to search for them.

She kissed her husband on his forehead and dashed out.

Senator Damon Williams emptied his stomach contents for the second time in ten minutes. He lifted his frail body from the toilet bowl and walked over to the sink. Water trickled down the sides of his face, after he washed it. He rinsed his mouth with mouthwash to remove the rancid taste.

"Sir, is everything okay in there?" Archie, his personal bodyguard asked through the door.

"Yes, I would be out in a minute. If Alana comes, let her in," he replied.

"Yes Sir," Archie said.

Damon couldn't believe he got himself into such a mess. Like a calf, his actions now seemed foolish. If word of this gets out, his life would be over.

On a normal day, he wouldn't dare involve his family in such a situation. But his sister was the best at what she did and the only one he could trust.

Her posture and expressions when she nagged him about his stupidity in the past flashed through his mind and he shuddered. Even though she was his younger sister, she had a way of making him feel like the younger one. She always treated him like her son rather than her brother. How disappointed she would be.

Immediately Alana arrived, the entrance door swung open. She didn't even have to knock or press the doorbell.
