"Ms. Ivey is it?" the sweet voice of the front office lady asked me.
"Yes ma'am. That's me." I replied. I have been extremely excited since I got the acceptance letter.
"Okay Ms. Ivey, your room is on the seventh floor, it seems you are the first of your roommates to check in so I guess you get to be first to pick your room." she lowered her voice at the last bit and winked. I think this woman and I will get along graciously.
"Oh thank goodness. I thought I was going to have to kick some ass to get what I wanted." I spoke before the words registered in my mind. "Oh my gosh I'm sorr-" I started
"No need to worry dear, as long as Mr. Delany doesn't hear it. He would throw a fit!" she laughed and I joined her.
"Thank you again and I'm sorry." I mentioned again.
"Good luck."
I smiled and closed my eyes. One, two, three. I rushed to the stairs, in too much of a hurry to try and wait for an elevator. By the third floor I regretted not taking another mean of transportation so I decided on the elevator instead.
My luck had been great and the doors of the frightening contraption were opening just as I reached the fourth floor. I am absolutely terrified of elevators but I couldn't wait. The thirty seconds it took the moving death trap was the scariest moments I had ever experienced.
When I reached the seventh floor I swear I stopped breathing. It was beautiful. From what I could see from where I was standing was a huge area with a stage complete with lights, a recording booth, a complete kitchen, multiple couches and chairs of different assortments, and twelve doors.
My bags were already brought up as I was checking in. Me being me I opened every door, all of the bed rooms were exactly the same, but with different views of the ocean. I decided to take the room that saw out to the perfect view of the magnificent, blue ocean. It was in the very middle of the other rooms, and they aren't small either.
The bed was placed in the far left with a night stand next to it. I noticed there werent any televisions in the rooms but that was fine with me. There was a vanity and dresser on the far right with a door next to it. I decided to investigate and to my astonishment it was the bathroom. It was amazing! It was almost the size of my closet which I found next the the night stand. A 12x3 ft marble counter top, a shower that has no door but glass "bricks", a jacuzzi bath tub and the coolest toilet I have ever seen. It's weird but true.
The carpet in my room was so plush. I had enough time spent on soaking it all in and I have to unpack. I started with my clothes, then chose to do that last. I unpacked my bathroom stuff, which took about half an hour. Made my bed, and started unpacking my clothes. It took about an hour to get organized. I then decorated my door on both sides. We get to paint the walls soon. I was a bit tired from having to wake up so early after so many restless nights. I noticed a magazine on the nightstand and it was a catalog. I called down to Beatrice, the office lady who's name I found out, to ask what it was for. She told me if there was anything I had forgotten at home or necessities I might need throughout the year.
I reached in my bag to find my schedule. I have only three, two-hour classes per day since its a year round school. On Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays I have drama, a music class, and then dance. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have I have honor classes. This school was really large so I think that I am going to need a map of the grounds. This place reminds me of a castle. I called down to Beatrice to ask if she had any maps and she told me there should be one in the nightstand. I checked and there it was. I couldn't believe how big it is here.
Since it was Saturday there was no school and the student were free to roam the school from 6am-11pm. As I look at the map I see there is a library, cafe, lounge, an auditorium, gym, football field, and the buildings for the classes.
