Chapter 2: Ali's POV
I had third lunch with Jaime and Emily today. I brought lunch like I always do every day. Our school lunch was disgusting; Ainsley once found mold in one of her meats in a sandwich. I sat down at our table in the corner of the cafeteria. "Hey" I said as I was pulling out the chair to sit down. Both replied a mumbled hi back.
"How was the new math teacher, Mr. Peters I think?" Jaime asked. "Yes and don't even get me started on him... he's awful." "What's so bad about him?" she said curiously.
"Well... he's super strict and kind of tries to scaring you in the beginning and give you this speech about how he can't tolerate lateness and you know the normal new teacher spiel...Then he moves you into alphabetical order." "That's bad, who are you next to?"
"Elliott Good"
The table got silent for a minute "that must be...interesting" Jaime said. "I can tell he's going to be annoying." "Don't judge a book by its cover."
There is Emily being Emily. She is one of the sweetest human beings that have lived on this planet. Also, Emily is super pretty. She has shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. Emily is on the taller side and slightly tanned. Also, she tends to wear dresses and skirts than pants.
"Em, he's just like the other jocks. Self-centered and obnoxious." "You don't know that Al."
"No but I don't need to know I can tell." I said obviously annoyed. "He's wicked sweet Al, I hung out with him over the summer."
My mouth hung open in shock, I hung with Emily over half of the summer, and she never mentioned him. I was so surprised. Elliott sweet... yeah impossible. His whole group are just assholes. How can he be any different? And from the month he's been in math he doesn't shut up. Also, he acts really stupid.
"I think you have the wrong Elliott." "Alright don't believe me, you will see it in him eventually." She said.
Jaime speaks up, "Em I love you but, you are the sweetest and it's impossible to be mean around you and from what I've
seen..."
"He isn't like other jocks." Emily argued.
I decided before anyone of us started anymore of an argument I'd switch the subject. "So Jaime...how was history?" "Boring, we are doing a stupid DBQ" "Oh that sounds fun. " "It is and your sarcasm is noted." I just smiled back one of my best friends who knew me too well.
I was now waiting outside the school for my brother. He was suppose to drive me home today. I have texted him seven times but still no response. I walked over into the parking lot to see if my brother's car is there. Maybe he is just waiting in the car. School got out at 2 and it was 2:30 now. Most cars were gone and only a handful of them are left. I scanned the lot and my brothers car was not in sight.
He forgot me. Great, that's just dandy. I don't live too far from the school so it was never a big deal to walk home. "Ali" I looked back to see my best friend. Well best guy friend.
His name Chase McArthur. He is average height and in pretty good shape. He has short brown black spiky hair. Hazel eyes and slightly tan. "What are you still doing here Al?" "My brother forgot about giving his sister a ride home" I said turning to face Chase. "Here my sister will drive you home."
I loved Chase's sister. She was a senior like my brother but so sweet. She always gave me clothes she didn't want or too small for her. She also gave me some of the best advice. Basically, my older sister that I look up to. Her name is Nora and she is honestly looks exactly like Chase. I swear they could be twins. Chase is maybe an inch taller.
"Thanks Chase, your a lifesaver!"
"No problem." We walked over to her little corolla. "Your late." she said immediately as he opened the door. "I was late talking to Ali she needs a ride home." "Fine, only cause I love Al" "love you too Nora." "Hey Al your my best friend not hers remember?" "I have a lot of best friends, she can be added to the list but don't worry Chase your up there." "I better be Ali."
My heart fluttered from hearing that statement. Yes, I have a crush on my best friend. Nothing will ever happen because we are best friends and that is one of my biggest fears. Losing my best friend. Of course I would love for us to live happily ever after but I couldn't bare to lose Chase as my best friend.
"Am I driving you home or to your other home at our place?" "My place. I have chores to do."
I unbuckled my seat belt. "Thanks for the ride Nora, see ya later Chase!" They waved goodbye as I unlocked the door to my household.
I went into the kitchen and started emptying the dishwasher. It was a boring chore but it had to be done. Then I startle doing my own laundry. I hated doing it. I missed the days when my mom and dad would do it. They say I'm older and need to be more independent ad helpful around the house.Even though my brother is 3 years older then me and I'm more independent. Go figure.
After all the boring chores I checked my social media of vine, twitter, tumblr, and instagram. Nothing seemed to catch my eye. I ran up to my bedroom and immediately switched out of jeans and into nice baggy sweatpants. Then threw a hoodie on.
I'm one of those people that if I'm
in my own home then I'm in sweats. I grabbed my laptop off the charger. I was prepared to watch my new obsession, The Carrie Diaries. I'm a girly girl so I love the mix of romance and fashion. And who doesn't love Austin Butler.
By the next time I checked the clock it was 11:30. It was a school night so I figured, time to go to bed. I didn't have any homework so, check.
I went to the bathroom to do my routine before bed. I crawled up into my bed and let my imagination drag me into sleep.
