Jesse's POV

"It's never going to work Mike" I said for the umpteenth time as the blonde dashed around the room, grabbing tools and components that he then fit onto the contraption in the middle of the cramped workshop. "I agree with Jesse" Josie said from her spot on the cushy leather couch that lined one wall "It's an impossible task" she said between sips of her Coca Cola.

"See, even Josie agrees with me and we never agree on anything" I said to Mike

"You guys just don't understand. You see, it's a complicated system" he said and pushed his glasses further up his nose. We all had to wear glasses, except Josie wore contacts, I liked it when she because it made her beautiful blue eyes stand out. I shook my head of the thought and turned back to my best friend since pre-school "It's late" I stated "I'm going back to the dorm" and I grabbed up my messenger bag and my grey jumper "You coming?" I asked Josie who nodded and grabbed her stuff before jointing me at the door "See you tomorrow" I told Mike who just gave a distracted wave before we left.

Our dorm at the Uni wasn't really big. Just a couple beds, a kitchen and a bathroom. After escorting Josie back to her shared dorm with Katie, I returned to mine and Mike's dorm and sat down on the small love seat. I was starting to worry about the budding scientist/engineer, he has been obsessed with this insane project for months. Building a working time machine. It was ludicrous, at first I helped him, it wasn't hard. We where both at this university for engineering degrees so we knew all the same stuff. Josie was here for English because she wanted to be a famous writer. I smiled at the thought of the dark ginger haired girl. I couldn't really say girl any more, all of us where 23 and had been friends forever because our parents worked together. I sighed and got up to go to have a shower. When I got out I wrapped a towel around my waist and looked at myself in the slightly fogged up mirror. I thought I was pretty good looking; around 5'8 or 9, pretty fit because I worked out every weekend between studying, I had gotten my mum's blonde hair but it was streaked with dad's chocolate brown locks, I had gotten his eyes as well. I had also inherited his incapability to grown a proper beard so I was always clean shaven. Mike had definatly gotten his dad's end of the gene pool, he had the same blonde hair and the same eyes, he had to wear glasses and had a small amount of blonde stubble growing on his face, I blamed it on his obsession with the time machine.

I dried off and put on a red t-shirt and a pair of grey joggers before clambering into bed. I fell asleep instantly. I was woken up later by my mobile ringing, I sat up and rubbed my eyes before glancing at the clock on my bedside table. The blurry red numbers read: 1:30 am, I groaned but answered my phone all the same "What." I said curtly "I did it!" Mike's excited voice yelled from the other end and I held the phone away from my ear "You made it work" I said "the time machine?" "Yes!" Mike said "I've already called Josie, she's coming now" "I'll be right there" I said and hung up. I pulled my brown jumper over my head and put on my black combat boots, no even bothering to change my trousers or lace up my shoes. I grabbed my phone and my glasses before racing out of the building and towards the small workshop that Mike used as a 'lab'. "I'm here" I announced as I closed the door behind me. Mike was talking to Josie, who was still wearing the same clothes, obviously she had been late night studying. "I have one question Mike. I don't doubt your intellect, but once we get where ever we're going how are we getting back?" I asked the blonde "Don't worry about that. I've figured it all out." He said and with no more on the subject went on to say "When and where?" "I know just the place" Josie said and we both turned to the ginger "Isn't is obvious. December 1st, Bristol, England, 2013" "Why then?" Mike asked "Don't you see?" She asked and when both me and Mike still looked confused Josie made a noise like a cow "Our parents did livestreams in December. 2013 was when they did cows" She said. Mike suddenly went nervous "I don't know...messing up our parents history would be messing up our history" he said at the same time I said "Sounds fun" and we turned to each other "So how does the thing work?" I asked and he showed me. Before he could say anything I typed in the time, date and place, grabbed hold of Josie and Mike, then pressed the button that apparently made it work and quoted one of dad's

old time travel shows "Allons-y!"

I hope you liked the first chapter of this new Yogfic :) Please tell me what you think! Should I keep writing it?
