My Angel ~ svt ff

I laughed along side with my parents, we were going to the beach today. It was supposed to be a nice family trip. Unfortunately my little brother Hyunwoo thought it was stupid to go do things with your family. He was 12 and going through a rebellious phase. I ruffled his hair and he swatted my hand away. I laughed.
Unamused he turned away and looked out the window. I looked at my mom and dad, they held each others hands and were so happy. They looked at one another and smiled, I hope one day I can be as happy as they are.
Then my mother let out a scream and my father yanked on the wheel. It all happened so fast. I heard a crunch as we ran head first into another car. My vision blurry I turned and reached my arm out for Hyunwoo. I grasped onto him. He let out a moan but no words.
"Hyunwoo, mom, dad." Those were the only words I managed before everything went black.

My head was pounding, as I opened my eyes I was blinded by how bright the room was. Letting my eyes adjust I sat up and then looked around. I had gauze wrapped around my head and other parts of my body.

"Hello is anyone there?" I said, my throat was dry like a desert. Then a sweet looking older lady came in.

"Hello Miss Kim Seol, my name is Lee Hye Min. I'm sorry to inform you about this but both of your parents passed away in the wreck. Fortunately your brother is okay. I'm very sorry for your loss."

Her words rung in my ears "your parents passed away"  they were gone. Mom. Dad. I looked to her as tears swelled in my eyes.

"I want to see Hyunwoo." my voice cracked and she nodded her head. She walked over to the door and opened in and in he ran.

"Noona!!" He threw his arms around me and sobbed. I wrapped mine around him, I couldn't cry, not in front of him. I stroked the back of his hair and he cried.

He stayed with me all day he laid next to me in my bed and slept.

There was a knock at the door. It was Miss Lee Hyemin. She poked her head in and looked at me.

"There's someone else here to see you." I nodded and in came a tall guy with sharp features. He let out a sigh of relief and then came over to me.

"Do I know you?" I say questionably. He shakes his head no.

"He pulled us out of the wreckage noona! He saved us." Hyunwoo said jumping up and then bowed to him, thanking him. He looked sheepish as Hyunwoo thanked him.

"Thank you for helping us. You're an angel." I say bowing my head towards him.

"Ah no don't worry about it, anyone in my situation would have done the same." I reach out and grab his hand.

"You saved my brother, I can't express how thankful I am for that." He blushed and nodded.

"You should rest more, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." He said politely and then left quietly.

Hyunwoo crawled into bed next to me and we stayed like that for awhile. I was all he had left and he was all I had left. He was sobbing quietly and all I could do was try and comfort him. I knew he was scared because I was too. Eventually sleep found us and we were helpless to it.

I woke up to the sound of my Aunties voice. My eyes opened slowly and I saw her standing over the bed petting Hyunwoo's head. Tears brimmed her eyes.

"Auntie." I said quietly, my voice trembling. She brushed away hair that was on my face, her face full of sorrow.

"It's just us now." she said and gave me a feeble smile. My heart sank, heavy with sadness and pain.

After a week in the hospital I was finally discharged and was able to go home, well to my Aunties home which was now mine as well. Things were calm and quiet which were nice, it gave me time to think. Hyunwoo was now permanently attached to me, afraid he would lose me too. We now did everything together, shopping, going out to eat, and even walking bunbun. Auntie did her best to make us feel at home, with 3 kids now instead of just 1 it was a big adjustment. Hyunwoo shared a room with our cousin Daesuk. He was a few years older than Hyunwoo but they got along well.
