Scrolling through instagram was my usual activities while sitting in band. There wasn't much to do this friday afternoon, considering my back was still messed up and I couldn't stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. The rest of the band class was practicing for the upcoming band festival. The entire student body had to play some kind of instrument or perform their own unique talent. It didn't sound like fun, mainly because I couldn't dance for the third year in a row. Last year, i had a broken ankle, and the year before that i was in Florida.

The bell rang signaling the day was finally over, i strutted my way towards the main walkway to grab my bag from my locker and continue out to the parking lot. By the time I reached my silver honda minivan, chrissy was already standing by the passenger door. I cllicked the little key, unlocked get both doors and we hoped in.

"Why does it have to be so cold??" Chrissy shivered and moved her hands in front of the hot air blowing from 4 vents.

"Its Washington, and january, darling. What else do you expect?" I turned the keys and started the ignition.

After heating the car run for a minute we headed out of the school lot and west on the highway to go home.

I screeched to a stop as the red smart car collided into the back end of annie. Yes i named my car! Thankfully, a police office was coming from the same direction as we were turning and quickly turned on his flashing lights to pull over the cars.

"We need an ambulance on park street please." Officer Joseph called into his walki talki. "Is everyone okay?"

"Everything's fine other than my head." Chrissy complained, grasping her scalp tightly.

The ambulance showed up and took chrissy in the back to the hospital to figure out what happened to her head. Not being blood family, i had to stay back at the scene and go over details.

By the time everything wa settled at the crash, chrissy was done with her exam and had already called dad to come get her. The police officer kindly gave me a ride home, because my car was towed off to the dealer.

Pulling into my drive way, dad and Chrissy were making their way inside to get her some rest. I  thanked the officer and rushed inside to help. Dad walked Chrissy up the stairs and returned back down to the kitchen where i sat on a bar stool, eating an apple.

"Do i want to know what happened?" He ran his fingers through his dark curly hair, frustrated.

"No.." i shook my head in shame.

Dad never really liked me, chrissy was always his favorite. And it became even worse when mom died. She was the only attention i ever received. It was kinda like i was a mistake. Considering that's all he ever tells me, i can believe its the truth. Majority of the time i can ignore him and the nasty things he says to me, but every once in a while it really gets to me, and it makes me feel like complete crap.

My mother dies 8 years ago from cancer. She was my best friend and it kills me everyday not having her here. I can get through it but its like a huge part of me is forever gone because she isn't with us. The doctors gave her 4 months to live from when they originally diagnosed her 3 years after having chrissy. I was 6 when she was diagnosed and she last until i was 8 years old.

"Why do you always have to be so irresponsible?" He slammed his hands down on the granite counter top and shut his eyes not wanting to look at me.

"It wasn't my fault dad, it was the other driver." I was so upset that it happened but him blaming me didn't help.

"You could've killed my baby girl." His eyes started to fill with tears.

"What about me?!" I screamed, standing from the bar stool. "Why am i never good enough for you? Why don't you care whether im hurt or not? I could've been killed too." I stormed off to my room knowing he wouldn't follow tot ray and apologize.
